NFL Week 9 Early Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)
Last week, I suggested backing the Jaguars at -1.5 against the Steelers. They’re now at -2.5. I also said to consider taking the Over 41.5 in the Panthers-Texans matchup. That number has jumped up to 43.5 for Week 8.
That’s our goal with our early odds articles. We’re trying to find value a week earlier.
Here are a few spots for Week 9 before Week 8 even begins.

Tennessee Titans vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
With the Jacksonville Jaguars on a long winning streak, it’s unlikely that the Steelers will escape the Jaguars, even at home.
Meanwhile, Will Levis will reportedly get the start in Week 8 for the Titans in a winnable matchup against the Falcons. What happens when Levis actually has a good game and leads the Titans past the Falcons at home on Sunday?
Tennessee’s line starts to rise. The Titans are sitting at +3.5 on the road against the Steelers. I love that crucial 3.5 number for the Titans. We’re rooting for Levis to have the game of his life on Sunday,
Bet: Titans +3.5 (-110)
Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The Dolphins are extremely fun. But the defense doesn’t compare to Kansas City’s this season. The Chiefs have actually played tremendous defense, while the Kansas City offense has been average.
However, last weekend, Patrick Mahomes added 400 yards passing and four touchdowns. He’s starting to get back to his old ways. That’s news for Miami.
Either way, the Dolphins have a home game against the Patriots in Week 8. If Miami wins, people will shrug their shoulders. If the Dolphins lose, the Chiefs will have a higher probability of winning this game at home.
The Chiefs have the Broncos in Week 8. They’ve already earned a win against them this season. With Kansas City sitting at -2.5, we’ll take it.
Bet: Chiefs -2.5 (-120)
Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals
We’re going to get another Bills-Bengals matchup in Week 9.
The Bills have been inconsistent, especially on primetime. But a win against the Buccaneers on Thursday night seems likely. On the other hand, the Bengals will take on the 49ers as 5.5-point underdogs. The Bills could only hurt their line by losing to the Buccaneers. It is expected that the Bengals lose to the 49ers.
With the Bengals at home against the Bills, the +1.0 line seems reasonable. Buffalo is also one loss away from falling to .500. The Bills haven’t been dominant either.
I’ll take my chances with the home team.
