NFL Week 9 Early Odds, Picks & Predictions (2024)
Last week, I suggested backing the Dolphins at -2.5 and the Jets at -6.5. Miami is now a 3.5-point favorite, and the Jets are up to 7.
These are significant line moves that went in our favor.
Letâs find some value for the Week 9 slate in the NFL before Week 8 even kicks off.

Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills
The Dolphins are 2-4 on the season but will get Tua Tagovailoa back for Week 8. If Miami takes care of business against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the Dolphins would likely be heavily backed heading into Week 9.
On the other hand, the Buffalo Bills have the Seattle Seahawks on the road in Week 8. For one, thatâs a long trip. Secondly, what if the Bills lose to Seattle on the road? The line is a bit fishy right now, with Seattle sitting as three-point underdogs at home.
If the Bills lose to Seattle and the Dolphins earn a convincing win against the Cardinals, the line movement will head toward the Dolphins, even with the Bills at home.
Consider another Dolphins bet for Week 9.
Bet: Dolphins +5.5 (-110)
New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers
What if Bryce Young plays well in Week 8 against the Broncos and secures the Panthers a victory? Maybe itâs a reach, but after getting some time on the sideline behind Andy Dalton, Young could have looked much improved in Week 8.
If Young plays well and Derek Carr returns from an injury next week, the Over would be much higher. After all, the Saints and Panthers were both blown out recently, giving up monster scores on the defense.
Therefore, consider the Over 46.5 in the Saints-Panthers game in Week 9.
Bet: Over 46.5 (-115)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
While the Kansas City Chiefs went out and found some help in their banged-up wide receiver room, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have so far decided not to.
Itâs concerning, especially with how well Baker Mayfield has played up to this point. At 4-3, the Buccaneers are in the playoff hunt but donât have reliable receivers to throw the ball to.
Mayfield was putting up MVP-like passing numbers. However, with Chris Godwin out for the year and Mike Evans unavailable until Week 12, itâs clear that the Buccaneers will struggle to pass the ball in the foreseeable future.
Iâm not ready to rely on Jalen McMillian, Trey Palmer, and Sterling Sheppard.
On the other hand, the Chiefs just added DeAndre Hopkins, who will fit in perfectly with the Chiefs. He rarely drops passes, which Patrick Mahomes has seen a lot of over the last couple of seasons with his receivers.
When the Buccaneers struggle to pass against the Falcons this week, the Chiefs could get to -9.5.
Bet: Chiefs -8.5 (-110)
