NFL Week 9 Early Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

Week 9 may be the toughest week for early projections. With so many quarterback statuses up in the air due to injury, it will be tricky to determine what to bet. With all of the unknown comes the opportunity to get your bets in before the lines shift. The challenge is being on the right side of those line movements.

I’m going to do my best to navigate the unknown and find the opportunity for my Early NFL Week 9 Parlay.

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Leg 1: Miami Dolphins @ Kansas City Chiefs -1.5 (-110)

The Dolphins and Chiefs will travel to Germany for their Week 9 matchup.

Kansas City is coming off a terrible loss against the Denver Broncos in Week 8. Before the game, it was reported that Patrick Mahomes was dealing with the flu. After that performance, it appears the reporting was true.

Assuming Mahomes will be back to full health in Germany, I expect a big bounce back.

The Dolphins will be trying to stop the narrative that they can’t beat good teams. This follows losses to the Bills and Eagles while only beating teams that do not have a winning record. Until the Dolphins show they can beat a team with a winning record, I like to fade them, especially when that test is the Kansas City Chiefs.

Leg 2: Seattle Seahawks +5.5 at Baltimore Ravens (-104)

I like both of these teams. In fact, this is a preview of my preseason Super Bowl matchup that I bet at 140-1.

Since I like both teams so much, I lean to the side getting the points. Seattle needed some luck from a horrible throw with under two minutes left against Cleveland in Week 8, but they still came back against one of the best defenses in the league. The Seattle rookies are what made me love this team in the preseason. Devon Witherspoon has looked like one of the top corners in the league, not just among rookies but overall. Their other first-round rookie, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, had the late go-ahead touchdown to seal the game for the Seahawks against the Browns.

Baltimore has looked good lately, winning three straight, including their last two against NFC teams. This week at home against Seattle, the Ravens will try to make it three straight, following a dominating Week 7 game against Detroit but only a one-score win against Arizona in Week 8.

I really do like both of these teams and can see either team winning outright on the moneyline, so my favorite bet is to take the 5.5 points for Seattle.

Leg 3: Indianapolis Colts @ Carolina Panthers Under 44.5 (-115)

This line represents two facts of the 2023 season. While the Indianapolis Colts give up a ton of points, the Carolina Panthers can not score many points.

The Panthers are averaging just over 18 points per game this year, and they are only 3.0-point underdogs at home to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. This line of 44.5 is the fourth-highest line out of the 14 games this week.

44.5 seems too high for this game. Bryce Young and the Panthers are coming off their first win of the season in a game where they won while only scoring 15 points. They are only 3.0-point underdogs to the Colts this week, so that line implies they should score around 22 points to hit the over.

In a week with so much uncertainty around which quarterbacks will be playing, I like the under on a game where it is Gardner Minshew vs. Young.

Three–Leg Parlay Odds: (+600)
