NFL Week 9 Early Odds & Predictions: Chargers vs. Falcons

On paper, this is a solid matchup for both teams. The Chargers are one of the worst teams against the run. They allow a league-worst 5.7 yards per rush attempt, which plays right into the Falcons’ strengths. On the ground, they average 158.1 yards per game, which is top five league-wide. Cordarelle Patterson also returned to practice on Wednesday, so he could suit up if he practices this week. They officially have 21 days to add him to the 53-man roster.

The Falcons allow the most passing yards per game at 306.9 yards per game, while the Chargers average 279.4 passing yards on offense. Unfortunately, the Chargers will be without Mike Williams and, possibly, Keenan Allen. Allen has not participated in practice this week, so it is not trending in the right direction. The Chargers will likely be without their top weapons outside, so the Falcons caught a break.

Falcons +3.5, Lean u49.5
