New York Rangers (-128) vs. Washington Capitals (+108) | O/U 5.5 (-134/+110)

The Rangers are sitting firmly in third place but can claim the Metro with a strong finish. They recently dropped back-to-back games, but the offense has been on the top line, with Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad combing for ninth points in five games and the third line of Alexis Lafreniere, Filip Chytil, and Kaapo Kakko having 12 points. With Igor Shesterkin, who's been a shutdown goalkeeper, they are a solid favorite come playoff time.

Even with all the injuries and rough patches, The Capitals had a slight chance recently to make the playoffs, but they fell after losing three straight.  Darcy Kuemper has been great in the crease allowing just 2.46 goals per game and a .946 save percentage in his last four starts, but he's getting no offensive support, with Connor Sheary and Alex Ovechkin being the only two skaters with multiple goals in those starts.

Kuemper has been great against the Rangers, and Shesterkin hasn't against the Capitals, but he's been outstanding lately. This game is getting the rare 5.5 total, and I still like it.

Pick: Under 5.5 (+110)

Anaheim Ducks (+385) vs. Calgary Flames (-520) | O/U 6.5 (-108/-120)

The Flames have flipped a switch, and they're now making a charge to grab that last playoff. The offense is showing their talent, scoring 3.80 goals per game in their previous five, and Tyler Toffoli has four fours in that span. It has neutralized Markstrom's less-than-ideal recent performances between the pipes.

The Ducks will finish with one of the worse records in the league and will be in contention for the Connor Bedard sweepstakes. They already have some young talent to build on, including Troy Terry and Trevor Tegras. Aside from that duo, there isn't much depth on the roster.

All three games have hit the under, and I expect the Flames to have an excellent offensive performance. I’m not expecting much of a performance from the Ducks, who will have played three road games in four days, scoring just once in the previous two.

Pick: Under 6.5 (-112)

Philadelphia Flyers (+202) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (-250) | O/U 6.5 (-114/-106)

Every game for the Penguins is important bc that loss against the Bruins and Panthers win just lost them the final Wild Card spot. They have skaters up and down the lineup that can push the puck and light the lamp, but the blue line and goaltending have dealt with injuries and inconsistency all season.

The Flyers are on a nice run as their season wraps up, winning four of their previous five. They'll likely be without their two best for the rest of the season as Travis Konecny has been placed on injured reserve, and Carter Hart is dealing with a lower-body injury.

Being down their top skater and goalie will make it difficult for the Flyers to generate offense or stop the Penguins' deep forward unit. The Penguins need this game badly and will regroup with a big win.

Pick: Penguins -1.5 (-102)
