NHL Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (4/11)

There's a ton at stake on the ice tonight as some teams are jockeying for playoff positioning while others are fighting for their postseason lives. A few of the key matchups across the league include the Penguins hosting the Blackhawks, the Jets taking on the Wild, and we have a 2022 Western Conference Finals rematch between the Oilers and Avalanche.

Let's dive deeper into tonight's 10-game slate and get a trio of best bets locked in.

Chicago Blackhawks (+340) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (-450) | O/U 6.5 (-104/-118)

The Blackhawks squandered a 2-1 lead to the Wild last night, keeping Minnesota's hopes for a Central Division title alive. Chicago will attempt to play spoiler once again tonight as they take on Pittsburgh in a cross-conference clash. The Penguins (90 points) are on the outside looking in on the Eastern Conference Wild Card race, trailing the Panthers (92 points) and Islanders (91). However, Pittsburgh has a game in hand, so a win tonight gets them back into the playoff picture. This one gets underway tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.

I'll say the Penguins get the two points tonight and I think they do so by at least two goals. Pittsburgh has been sharp defensively over their recent 4-2-0 run, giving up just 13 goals over the span (2.17 GAA). We can expect Tristan Jarry to be in net tonight, and the 27-year-old seems to finally be hitting his stride. He's given up just two goals over his last two starts (MIN, DET), which moved him to 24-12-6 on the year with a 2.89 GAA and .910 SV%.

If he keeps his form tonight, the lowly Blackhawks offense will have issues scoring goals. Chicago is just 1-11-0 over their last 12 games, finding the net just 22 times during the sample (1.83 GPG). The lack of offensive production has seen them drop to dead last in the league offensively, scoring just 2.4 goals per game. If Pittsburgh's defense holds up, they should be able to stretch their lead out by multiple goals.

Bet: Pittsburgh Penguins -1.5 (-170)

Winnipeg Jets (+106) vs. Minnesota Wild (-128) | O/U 5.5 (-124/+102)

The Wild rallied back from a 2-1 deficit last night to eventually beat the Blackhawks 4-2 in the Windy City. They make the short trip back home where they'll host the Winnipeg Jets. Winnipeg (93 points) is currently in possession of the final Wild Card spot in the West, owning a two-point cushion over Calgary with a game in hand as well. As for Minnesota, they're currently third in the Central, trailing the Avalanche and Stars by two points each. This divisional clash is set for 8:00 p.m. ET from the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN.

I'll roll with Minnesota to earn the two points tonight. They're a perfect 3-0-0 against Winnipeg this year, outscoring the divisional opponent 14-4. Furthermore, the Wild have been excellent at home, posting a 25-11-4 record throughout the year. Winnipeg is just 19-19-1 on the road.

Both of these teams are on a back-to-back; however, it should favor the Wild as they rested their big guns of Jared Spurgeon, Mats Zuccarello, and Kirill Kaprizov last night in Chicago. This team still has a chance at the Division title, or at least home ice in their first-round matchup, so look for the Wild to bring their A-game tonight. I think they'll get it done on home ice.

Bet: Minnesota Wild Moneyline (-128)

Seattle Kraken (+125) vs. Vegas Golden Knights (-150) | O/U 6.5 (+100/-122)

The Golden Knights can secure a Pacific Division title tonight with any point and an Oilers regulation loss. Meanwhile, the Kraken are comfortably in the possession of the top Wild Card spot in the West, but they can still pass the Kings for the third spot in the Pacific. However, that would see them have to take on the Oilers in a first-round matchup, rather than playing the Golden Knights or potentially the Avs. None of those options sound very enticing to me. This divisional matchup gets underway tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

It's going to be a skeleton crew for the Golden Knights tonight as they'll be without defensemen Shea Theodore and Zach Whitecloud as well as Jack Eichel and Mark Stone up front. Stone's absence has hindered the Vegas power play all season considering they're just 18th in the league at 20.3%. Remove top scorer Eichel (27G, 38A) from the equation and you have to wonder where the offense will come from.

On the flip side, the Kraken are playing excellent hockey, winning five straight games and outscoring their opponents 28-9 over the span. They have the third-best offense in the league, a unit that's averaging 3.6 goals per game. Considering the revolving door at goaltender for Vegas and their injury issues, I think it makes sense to back Seattle in this spot.

Bet: Seattle Kraken Moneyline (+125)
