This Monday has an exciting slate of games, including a couple of teams playing well recently. We also have a matchup with some struggling teams that would love to come away with two points.

Top 3 NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (12/19)
Panthers (+142) vs. Bruins (-172) | o/u 6.5 (-122/+100)
The Panthers are looking excellent offensively and just put up four goals against the best statistical defensive unit, even with losing Aleksander Barkov. Sergei Bobrovsky is holding them together. He’s holding down the net, allowing five goals in the last three games with one shutout.
Boston is still winning games, but they haven’t been as dominant as earlier in the season. The Kings and Islanders took them to a shootout. The Bruins also had a rare upset home loss to the Coyotes. Enormous credit goes to Linus Ullmark, who is holding this team together as one of the best goalkeepers in the league.
This will be a close game, with both goaltenders holding this game to a low score. The under at a plus money line is great value for this game.
Pick: Under 6.5
Oilers (-134) vs. Predators (+112) | o/u 6.5 (-126/+106)
The Oilers are coming into today with back-to-back losses, one of which was a massive upset to the Ducks. The offense is phenomenal, with Connor McDavid looking like a Hart Trophy candidate, but the goaltending continues to struggle. The defense played well, allowing just 17 shots last game compared to their 49, but Stuart Skinner allowed four goals.
The Predators are coming into today in worse shape after losing six straight. The Goalkeeping has been incredible with how many shots they give up per game and Juuse Saros is ninth in goals saved above expected (MIN 15 games). They aren’t doing anything in their opponent’s zone, with the second-fewest goals this season.
Edmonton has recently dominated this series, winning nine of the last ten. Their ability to move the puck in the offensive zone and the overall quickness of their skater will have them scoring, and the goaltending inabilities shouldn’t be as big of a factor against the Nashville offense.

Sabres (+146) vs. Golden Knights (-178) | o/u 6.5 (-110/-110)
The Sabres are on a terrific run right now as they look for their fourth straight win. As usual, the offensive unit continues to be stellar with 15 goals in the last three games, but the defense has started to step up, allowing just four goals in that same span and shutting out the Kings.
The Golden Knights’ dominance from earlier in the season has subsided. They’ve been out-played on both ends of the ice, especially at home, and have lost three of the last four, and mostly against potential playoff teams.
The Sabres are playing well on both sides at the perfect time. This is a great chance to steal one from Vegas, as they slide down the rankings.
