Top 3 NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday

Vegas Golden Knights (+142) vs. Boston Bruins (-176) | o/u 6 (-115/-105)

This is the day’s premiere matchup and could very well be a Stanley Cup Final preview.

The Golden Knights are showing they are one of the better teams as they lead the Western Conference in points. They’re currently top ten on offense and defense, but they’ve dipped recently, dropping three of their last five with a -3 goal differential.

The Bruins are also proving to be one of the best teams in the league and just behind the Devils for the top seed in the east. They’ve been especially stellar in the TD Garden, going 14-0-0. In fact, both Boston sports teams have been tough to beat there.

As great as the Golden Knights are, it’s hard to go against the Bruins when they’re in The Garden. They’re holding a +2.54 goal difference in goals per game at home. They grab this one easily.

Pick: Bruins three-way ML (-115)

Colorado Avalanche (-205) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (+168) | o/u 6 (-106/-114)

The Avalanche have the ability on both sides of the ice to compete with anyone in the league as they defend their title. The top line of Mikko Rantanen and Nathan McKinnon is one of the best forward units in the league. At the same, the defense is allowing the fifth-fewest expected goals and tenth-fewest shots on goal.

The Flyers were among the more surprising team to start the season successfully. They were playing well thanks to their remarkable defense and exceptional goaltending by Carter Hart. Since then, the team has plummeted, losing 12 of their last 13, and Hart’s goals allowed per game has increased.

The Flyers’ defense will not be able to win the battle in the neutral zone, and the offense has struggled all season.

Pick: Avalanche -1.5 (+130)

Arizona Coyotes (+255) vs. Calgary Flames (-320) | o/u 6 (-106/-114)

The Coyotes continue to be bottom feeders, allowing their young talent to gain experience as they build for the future. There’s a bright spot with Karel Vejmelka, who’s second in goals saved above expected and wins above replace this season.

The Flames’ changes have not gone the way they expected this season. Nazem Kadri and Jonathan Huberdeau have not performed well in their first years with the team, and once dominant on both sides, Calgary sits in the middle of the league on offense and defense.

The Flames are having a little offensive surge scoring 12 goals in their last three games. Against most teams, you can make a case for Flames to drop this game, but the Coyotes are limping during this long road trip and don’t have the talent to compete in this matchup.

Pick: Flames -1.5 (-120)
