Ottawa Senators (-130) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (+106) | o/u 6.5 (-118/-104)

The Flyers have been the most surprising team in the league this season. Many preseason experts had them finishing near the bottom of the league, but they’re currently 7-4-2 and in the mix in the Metropolitan Division. The big reason is Carter Hart being tremendous this year, allowing 2.04 goals per game.

Ottawa has been struggling badly, as they’ve lost seven straight. They’re getting offensive contributions from the forwards throughout their lines, but the defense has not pulled its weight by allowing the sixth-most goals this season.

The Senators will not put their usual offensive numbers against Hart, and the defensive struggles will show as they lose their eighth straight.

Pick: Flyers ML (+106)

St. Louis Blues (+180) vs. Las Vegas Golden Knights (-220) | o/u 6.5 (-110/-110)

Nobody is better than the Golden Knights right now. They’ve got a great offense, including Jeff Reich, who just had a hat trick, but they’re leading the league in goals allowed.

The Blues have struggled to start the season, losing eight consecutive games before a win at home against the Sharks. This was the third-best offensive unit in the league last year, and they’re now sitting last, and the struggles of Jordan Binnington behind the net continue with just a .888 save percentage.

This is a game where Vegas could get it going early, and they could run the score up.

Pick: Golden Knights -1.5 (+120)

Arizona Coyotes (+260) vs. New Jersey Devils (-330) | o/u 6.5 (-110/-110)

The Devils have been playing exceptionally well this season, and it looks like they’ll be a contender in a tight Metropolitan Division. They haven’t been getting a solid offensive effort, and now they put Ondrej Palat on IR, but they haven’t needed it with how incredible their defense is. This is easily the best group of players on the blue line, and they’re leading the league in the share of takeaways, shots on goal allowed, and expected goals.

Are the Coyotes actually good? Picked early to finish near the bottom, they’re 4-1 this month with wins against the Islanders, Capitals, and Panthers. Enormous credit to Karel Vejmelka, as he’s on a great run, winning three straight starts and averaging a goal in that span.

We should see Akira Schmid making his first start, with Vitek Vanecek leaving the previous game with an injury and Mackenzie Blackwood already sidelined. This is an excellent opportunity to take the Coyotes with another big upset.

Pick: Coyotes ML (+260)
