Top 3 NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (12/11)

This Sunday has an exciting slate of games, with a couple of teams playing well recently. We also have a matchup with some struggling teams that would love to come away with two points.

Colorado Avalanche (-111) vs. St. Louis Blues (-110) | o/u 6 (-114/-106)

The Avalanche and Blues had an exciting matchup the last they played each other. In the final minutes of that game, the Avs had a two-man advantage, but Jordan Binnington played exceptionally well to preserve that win.

That was when the Blues were in the middle of the impressive winning streak, but they’ve since fallen off, losing seven of their last nine games, and Binnington has allowed at least four goals in five of his previous six.

Colorado is dealing with injuries and, as a result, they are struggling on offense, scoring just five goals in their last four games. The loss of Nathan McKinnon could prove to be detrimental to this team.

This will be Colorado’s inability to score with the Blues’ failure to prevent scoring. It will take an adjustment for Colorado’s new line combinations to work together, so I like the Blues getting the win at home.

Pick: Blues ML (-110)

Boston Bruins (-152) vs. Las Vegas Golden Knights (+126) | o/u 6 (-108/-112)

The Bruins and Golden Knights are two powerhouses, and this could be a Stanley Cup final preview. In the last matchup, the Golden Knights looked to be rolling with a 3-0 lead, but the Bruins would answer with three of their own, sending this to overtime, where Vegas would win in a shootout.

The Golden Knights have been strong on each end of the ice, but a critical piece has been rookie Logan Thompson with the league’s tenth-best save percentage and two shutouts.

It’s hard to find a flaw on this Boston team. Their forward unit attacks the zone better than anyone and on top of that, they have Linus Ullmark, who is atop the league in every goalkeeper category.

The Bruins saved Ullmark for this game and will be the difference maker to grab them the win this time.

Pick: Bruins 60 Min ML (+110)

Seattle Kraken (+134) vs. Florida Panthers (+162) | o/u 6.5 (-120/-102)

The Kraken would love revenge on the Panthers for snapping their seven-game winning streak last week. They’ve since dropped the following two matchups and have been out-scored 13-3 in their three losses.

The Panthers were winners in three of their last five games, but they could be at several disadvantages. They’ll be on the second leg of a back-to-back and may not have goalie Spencer Knight, as he did not suit up on Saturday.

The Panthers also have a couple of players missing from their forward unit, which could also play a part. That will all play a role, and Kraken are a great underdog to take tonight.

Pick: Kraken ML (+134)
