Minnesota Wild (+126) vs. Dallas Stars (-152) | o/u 6  (-120/-102)

The Wild’s identity throughout the season has been through their defense, with Marc-Andre Fleury and Filip Gustavsson combing for the fifth-best expected goals against. Now the offense has been clicking lately, averaging 4.20 goals in their last five games.

The Stars have been great on both ends this season and have the best point differential and third-most points in the Western Conference. Immense credit goes to Jake Oettinger behind the net, who has the fourth-best save percentage on shots on goal and sixth in wins above replacement.

Minnesota’s offensive surge has come against bottom-tier defenses. They’ll come back down to earth against an excellent blue line and crease defender.

Pick: Stars ML (-152)

Chicago Blackhawks (+235) vs. New York Islanders (-295) | o/u 6  (+104/-128)

The Blackhawks are having a rough season as they sit near the bottom of the Western Conference. With the team going nowhere, you wonder if they’ll part with some of their top skaters as they think about the future.

For the Islanders, the future is now. This team is having a stellar season under first-year coach Lane Lambert, and they’ve become a balanced team in both zones. This roster has always been known for its defense, but the offense has improved from 22nd last season to 15th.

The Islanders have done a great job at puck movement in the offensive zone and should dominate the Chicago blue line, and the lack of offensive depth will be tough for the Blackhawks to overcome.

Pick: Islanders -1.5 (-110)

Anaheim Ducks (+220) vs. Winnipeg Jets (-275) | o/u 6  (-110/-110)

The Ducks are just bad. Troy Terry and Trevor Zegras are fun to watch at the top of the forward unit, but this team has no depth. It will be a long season as long as they sit last in the league on both sides of the puck.

The Jets are average on offense this season, but that’s not why they’re just three points behind the Stars in the Central. The defense has been stellar, with the third-best goals against above expected.

Winnipeg’s aggressiveness in the neutral zone on defense will be difficult for Anaheim, who has trouble getting the puck out of their zone in general.

Pick: Jets -1.5 (-115)
