NHL Playoffs Best Bets, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (5/13)

Just one game, as we have a series that could conclude tonight. Dallas has played so well over the last two games, and we’ll see if they can continue that momentum or if Seattle can extend this to one more game.

Dallas Stars (-152) at Seattle Kraken (+126) | O/U 5.5 (-130/+106)

The Stars became the first team to win back-to-back games in this series and are now a game away from going to Western Conference Finals.

The biggest problem for Dallas was that they weren’t getting contributions from their best players. That’s changed. Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson have shined in the last two games. Hintz has three goals in Games 4 and 5 while Robertson has four assists. If these two continue to play like this, expect this series to end tonight.

The defense has been great in the last two games. Although they allowed 31 shots in Game 5, their expected goal percentage was 34, and they had just four high danger shots. This was Jake Oettinger’s best performance of the series, with a .935 save percentage.

The Kraken are cracking as this magical run could end soon. They haven’t led once in the last two games and have spent most of it down multiple goals. This is a great offense with a lot of playmakers, so they can get it going, and it will always be challenging for the opposing defense because there aren’t any off shifts.

Phillip Grubauer played all 60 minutes in Game 5, but it was a tough one allowing five goals on just 21 shots. There is no indication that he won’t start in Game 6, but Martin Jones did see his first action in over a month in Game 4, so you wonder in an elimination game if Grubauer will have a quick hook.

The Stars struggled at the beginning of this series, but now that we’re seeing Robertson and Hintz playing a role, they’re showing how much better they are. The Kraken’s story was great, but Dallas will end this series.

Best Pick: Dallas 60-minute Moneyline (+100)

Each game has hit over 5.5 in this series, and that trend will continue. The Stars’ offense has been hitting all cylinders, and the Kraken has grabbed a couple of goals in these games.

Pick: Over 5.5 (-130)
