NHL Playoffs Player Prop Bet Picks & Predictions: Thursday (4/20)
The first night featured some exciting games, and we hope Game 2 can meet those expectations. Weâre going all assist props for Thursday night, so letâs look at some players that will help their team in Game 2.
Today's Best NHL Player Props
Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook
Cale Makar OVER 0.5 Assists (-130)
The defending champs took a tough loss in Game 1. They're coming into Game 2 experiencing something that never happened last year, a 0-1 hole. They know what they are capable of and have the same core players that raised Lord Stanleyâs Cup less than a year ago.
Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon can easily go on a run and change the landscape of this series. That's primarily because they have Cale Makar as a puck facilitator. They need him on that top line as a helper, so he'll break his recent skid and grab an assist.
Steven Stamkos OVER 0.5 Assists (+110)
The three-time defending Eastern Conference champions came into Game 1 and left with a dominating win over the Maple Leafs 7-3. At even strength, Toronto was the better team, but they let the Lightning get eight power play opportunities, converting four, which was the difference. Until someone from the Eastern Conference beats the Bolts and the Leafs win a playoff series, continue to back them.
This is a talented forward unit, with six guys grabbing 50+ points and Steven Stamkos finished third on the team in points and assists. It's shocking to see zeros on his stat line in a game where the Lighting scored seven times. Stamkos has a great history against Toronto, with an assist in six of his last seven games.
Adam Fox OVER 0.5 Assists (-120)
The Rangers went to the Prudential Center and showed why they had the most points in the second half of the season. In Game 1, they dominated in New Jersey's zone getting open shots, being able to put the puck near the net, and grabbing second chances.
Adam Fox is one of the better two-way defensemen in the league, and his 60 assists were the fifth-most amongst the position. He was an intricate part of the Rangersâ scoring in Game 1 with four assists, which now gives him seven in four games against the Devils this season. Fox is on that first line and the first PP line, so he'll get a lot of chances to help more tonight.
