NHL Playoffs Player Prop Bet Picks & Predictions: Thursday (4/27)

We have the important swing game in a series tied at two, where it is important for each team to get the win. We could also see two team’s season end tonight, so we’ll see where to side there as well.

Let’s look at the players that make an impact in those games.

Today’s Best NHL Player Props

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Auston Matthews OVER 4.5 Shots On Goal (-105)

After the Game 1 loss to the Lightning, nobody believed the Maple Leafs would recover. Flash forward, and they are one win away from eliminating the three-time defending Eastern Conference champions for their first playoff series win in nearly 20 years.

The offense has made one of the top goalkeepers look amateur, as Andrei Vasilevskiy has a .856 save percentage and a playoff-worst -5.1 goals saved above expected.

The Leafs have steadily improved at attacking the net throughout the series, including Matthews, whose shot total has increased every game, along with 14 in two regular-season matchups.

Chris Kreider OVER 0.5 Points (-130)

The Rangers looked great heading home after taking the first two games in Jersey. The offense was clicking, and the defense contained an excellent Devils’ offense. They came home to The Garden but didn’t bring their offense because their top playmakers from the first two games were shut down.

One player who continuously plays well is Kreider. He has been consistent throughout the playoffs, coming away with a point every game. Thursday night should be no different and I expect this prop to cash once again.

Chandler Stephenson OVER 0.5 Assists (+120)

Vegas has shown their two-way dominance which earned them the eighth-best goal differential above expected this season. We knew Winnipeg would struggle to keep up offensively and rely on their defense to pull out the series, but it’s been a challenge as Vegas has been able to gain large leads.

Stephenson has been a large part of this recent run and has come away with a pair of points in each game. If you want the safety net of the point prop at the lesser value, go for it, but if you want to swing for the fences, take the Golden Knights’ assist leader to grab one at a plus value.

The top-seeded Golden Knights took an unexpected loss in Game 1, but they have regrouped, winning three straight, and can close out the series tonight.
