NHL Playoffs Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (4/19)

The first night featured some exciting games, and we hope Game 2 can meet those expectations. We will feature two games where the home team lost Game 1, so this is important so as not to go down a 2-0 hole and then go on the road.

Florida Panthers at Boston Bruins

  • Leg 1: Bruins -1.5 (+110)
  • Leg 2: David Pastrnak Anytime Goal (-125)
  • Leg 3: UNDER 6.5 Total Goals (-125)

The Bruins held the lead throughout this game and took Game 1, 3-1. The Panthers had the shots and hits advantage and more scoring chances, but it still never felt like they were in this game.

Alex Lyon was good between the pipes, but you wonder if they’ll go to Sergei Bobrovsky. We know about his success in the playoffs where the two-time Vezina Trophy winner helped defeat the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Lightning when he was with the Blue Jackets.

They could make all the moves they want, but this isn’t just any Presidents’ Trophy winner, this is a record-setting team. Boston’s offense was second in the league in goals per game and Linus Ullmark remains dominant in the crease.

Boston will have no problem going up 2-0.

Minnesota Wild at Dallas Stars

  • Leg 1: Jason Robertson Anytime Goal  (+125)
  • Leg 2: UNDER 1.5 Total First Period Goals (-120)
  • Leg 3: UNDER 5.5 Total Goals (-115)

This was a thrilling Game 1 that went into double-overtime and Ryan Hartman sealed it for Minnesota in the 3-2 win.

Dallas might have lost, but they were the better team by leading in shots (53-48), hits (50-42), and face-off wins (61-47).

The big question that looms over the Stars is the status of Joe Pavelski, as he left the game in the second period after taking a check to the head. Dallas coach Peter DeBoer did not give a status update but noted that he is coming up with possible line combinations just in case. The plus/minus and co-power play goals leader, he does a lot for the team, including faceoffs and special teams, so not having him would be impactful.

Minnesota’s defense was very physical, which will continue, and this will be another low-scoring game.

Los Angeles Kings at Edmonton Oilers

  • Leg 1: Oilers -1.5 (+120)
  • Leg 2: Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal (-110)
  • Leg 3: UNDER 6.5 Total Goals (-110)

This was another exciting game that needed more than 60 minutes. The Kings came back from a 3-1 deficit midway through the third, sent this to overtime, then Alex Iafallo clinched for the 4-3 win.

The Kings’ 5-on-5 offense was not very good, and they couldn’t put pressure on the net with just a 33.33 goal percentage and two high-danger shots. You see how not having Kevin Fiala has impacted this offense. LA was lucky to get six power play opportunities and converted two, but they need him back.

The Oilers were the best offense in the NHL, and the big reason was Connor McDavid. The Kings have done well at containing McDavid who has just three points in five games. The offense still played well and got the puck near the crease, and the full-strength defense was fantastic, but the special teams could not do their job.

The adjustments the Oilers need to make will be easier than what the Kings need to do with the status of Fiala is up in the air. Although McDavid didn’t have an impact, but they still have Leon Draisaitl, who had two goals in Game 1, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who finished the season with 100 points, and Zach Hyman, who had 30 goals. Edmonton should tie up this series in another close game.
