Thursday's NHL Best Same Game Parlays
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Buffalo Sabres at Tampa Bay Lightning
- Leg 1: Over 6.5 Total Goals (+100)
- Leg 2: Brayden Point Over 2.5 Shots On Goal (-150)
- Leg 3: Tage Thompson Over 3.5 Shots On Goal (+110)
The Lighting can offensively compete with anyone in the league. They're ninth in expected goals per 60, and Nikita Kucherov is your current points leader. They don't have any semblance of a defense; they're 25th in expected goals against, have allowed the fourth-most high-danger shots, and Andrei Vasilevskiy has found no consistency this year.
Check the same things off for the Sabres, as it's been a disappointing season after coming close to making the playoffs last year. They are not too far off defensively, as they've allowed just 11 fewer high-danger shots than the Bolts, but Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has been their saving grace with 8.6 goals saved above expectations. The offensive talent is there; it just hasn't been on the ice at the same time, and it still isn't with Jack Quinn on Injured Reserve, and Jeff Skinner being questionable.
It's strange to say with Vasilevskiy on the ice that Tampa Bay doesn't have the advantage, but it shows he's not fully healthy from that back surgery. This will still be a high-scoring game, so take the over and some player props.

Winnipeg Jets at Dallas Stars
The Stars are not shining. They have been dreadful recently, going 1-3-3 over their last seven. They have a few players dealing with injuries, most notably Tyler Seguin, but he's played in a couple of losses, and the offense overall is abysmal, scoring two or fewer goals in five straight. It doesn't help when Jake Oettinger is in a slump, as he's recently 1-2-2 with a .858 save percentage.
It especially doesn't help when Connor Hellebuyck is on the other side of the ice. He already has a Vezina Trophy and is in line for another one, as he's a heavy favorite to win it again (-280 on DraftKings). They do not have an overly dominant offense, but they do have some solid playmakers, with four players having over 40 points and seven with double-digit goals.
Dallas' schedule has been tough recently and doesn't get much better tonight. With the offense struggling, it isn't the best time to face the best goalkeeper in the league.

Minnesota Wild at Nashville Predators
- Leg 1: Predators Moneyline (-115)
- Leg 2: Kirill Kaprizov Anytime Goal (+125)
- Leg 3: Filip Forsberg Over 3.5 Shots On Goal (-130)
Nashville has been hot coming into this game, winning six straight. Not many thought the Predators would be relying so much on the offense, but that's how it's been. They're 51.3% in expected goals and are getting phenomenal performances from Filip Forsberg with 60 points, Roman Josi has the second-most goals amongst defensemen, and Ryan O'Reilly's first season in Nashville has been great with 49 points. Weâre also finally seeing the Juuse Saros we expected; he's won his last four decisions with a .948 save percentage.
The Wild are playing up to the expectations they had going into the season. The ageless Marc-Andre Fleury has been great at 4-1-0 and has allowed 2.78 goals over his last five, Filip Gustavsson has 3-1-1 but has only saved 89.8% of his shots. The top line has been on fire; Kirill Kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Matt Boldy have had seven goals in the last ten games.
Although both teams are playing well, you must trust Nashville. This is especially true if we get the Saros we're used to. They were tested on the road, won five straight, then grabbed the first win on this homestand and should pull it off again.
