Thursday's NHL Best Same Game Parlays

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

New York Islanders at Detroit Red Wings

  • Leg 1: Red Wings Moneyline  (-112)
  • Leg 2: Over 6.5 Goals (-102)
  • Leg 3: Bo Horvat Over 2.5 Shots On Goal (-145)

We've watched the highs and lows of the Islanders, and it was recently when they went on a winning streak and got back into the playoff hunt. Today, they're coming into this game having lost five straight, and they must climb over the Capitals and tonight's opponent to get back in the playoffs. This has never been a great offense, and they've always leaned on the top line, but while Bo Horvat has been good with three goals and an assist in these five games, the rest of the team has three goals total.

They might be able to put in a better effort against a Detroit defense that has struggled all season. The Red Wings have been much worse recently, and they need to be worried about the Capitals, who have been playing better of late. They have maintained the final Wild Card spot thanks to two wins in their last three games, but they’ve come against Buffalo and Columbus. They'll be crossing their fingers for Dylan Larkin’s return, who practiced Wednesday and could be in the lineup after missing the last eight games.

Other than Ottawa, the Isles have faced excellent goaltenders, so expect a better offensive effort tonight. Still, the Red Wings’ offense is light years better, and they've scored seven goals in two games against Ilya Sorokin.

Parlay Odds: +533

Nashville Predators at Florida Panthers

  • Leg 1: Panthers -1.5 (+130)
  • Leg 2: Under 6.5 Goals (-115)
  • Leg 3: Roman Josi Over 0.5 Points (-135)

The Predators have an eight-point advantage with 12 games remaining, so as long as they can leave games with points, they should be fine. The offense has been incredible, with a 62% expected goal share in March. They have been riding the coattails of Filip Forsberg, who has 13 points (7G 6A), and Roman Josi, who has ten (3G 7A) this month.

Top to bottom, who's better than the Panthers' roster? Their 57% goals expected share is the best in the league, and while the even strength is fourth, they have phenomenal special teams, as their 26.4% power play is second best in the league.

The Preds are the hotter team with three straight wins, but Winnipeg was the only playoff opponent. Juuse Saros vs. Sergei Bobrovsky in the cage will keep the score low, but the Panthers have more depth and will escape with a win.

Tampa Bay Lightning at San Jose Sharks

  • Leg 1: Lightning -1.5 (-148)
  • Leg 2: Brayden Point Anytime Goal (+120)
  • Leg 3: Nikita Kucherov Over 1.5 Points (-110)

The core of this Tampa Bay roster has so much experience; they're former champions and know when it's time to turn it on. The last 14 games of the regular season are the perfect time. They are entering this game on a four-game heater, and the offense has been scorching. They've lit the lamp 23 times during this streak with almost everyone contributing including Nikita Kucherov, who has 11 points (3G 8A). Additionally, Brayden Point has nine (3G 6A), and Steven Stamkos has ten points, including a hat trick with three assists against the Rangers. These four wins have been against the Panthers, Rangers, Flyers, and Golden Knights.

We don't need to get into the Sharks because we know they're not a good team. They're allowing the most points, scoring the second fewest, and last in expected goal share.

Not many teams have the pedigree they do, and they are playing their best right now, so don't expect this to be a trap game. They previously beat the Sharks 6-0. Look for another big win.
