(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Philadelphia Flyers at Florida Panthers
- Leg 1: Panthers -1.5 (+105)
- Leg 2: Panthers Over 3.5 Goals (-135)
- Leg 3: Matthew Tkachuk Over 0.5 Assists (-135)
The Flyers came out charging after the All-Star break with four straight wins but in the last nine games, they haven't won back-to-back. The team is playing well, and of their six overall losses in that span, they've gone to overtime in two and have lost by multiple goals just twice. Philadelphia is still over 50% expected goal share for the year and is better than that since the break, the team is just having bad luck.
The luck gets even worse when they're facing the red-hot Panthers. Florida is currently on a five-game winning streak and prior to a 1-0 loss to Carolina, they were on a six-game winning. Before a 2-1 loss to tonight's opponent, they won four straight, so they are 15-2-0 in their last 17. They have over a 56% expected goal share in that span, so they are dominating.
The Flyers were able to hand the Panthers one of their rare losses recently, but you cannot look at how they're playing and think they will lose to them again at home.

Edmonton Oilers at Columbus Blue Jackets
- Leg 1: Oilers -1.5 (-110)
- Leg 2: Connor McDavid Over 1.5 Points (-120)
- Leg 3: Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal (+110)
The Oilers hit a snag after losing their 16-game losing streak, but they seem to have recharged and have won five straight. The big reason has been the defense and goaltending; Stuart Skinner has won his last four of those games with a .952 save percentage, and the defense is allowing 29.6 shots on goal per game. That doesn't mean the offense has been a dud; Connor McDavid has 10 points (2G 8A), Leon Draisaitl has nine (4G 5A), and Zach Hyman has five goals.
That's not good for the Blue Jackets, who struggle on both ends. They are in the bottom half of the league in most offensive and defensive categories, and when you look at the underlying metrics, it's even worse, so there just isn't any positive outlining for this team.
We're seeing the Oilers get back to form, and it's tough not to think they won't grab a big win.
Total Parlay: +305
Ottawa Senators at Los Angeles Kings
- Leg 1: Kings Moneyline (-192)
- Leg 2: Under 6.5 Total Goals (-118)
- Leg 3: Senators Under 2.5 Goals (-110)
This Kings team is far from the one we saw early in the season. On December 7th, they were 16-4-3; they are 15-15-8 since. The main reason is that the offense has completely abandoned them; they are scoring 3.07 goals per game, which is 19th, but the underlying metrics show they are playing above expectations, as their expected goals per 60 are 3.02. Their defense will keep this afloat; they're third in expected goals allowed per 60 and fifth in shots on goal allowed.
Unlike the Kings, the Senators' problem has been the defense, specifically their goaltending, which ranks 30th overall. The team seems to be waiving the white flag, as they traded Vladimir Tarasenko, and they could make more moves before the trade deadline.
Their offense is better than the Kingsâ, but this LA defense is too good, and they have the rest of the advantages.
