Calgary Flames at Pittsburgh Penguins
- Leg 1: Pittsburgh Penguins Moneyline (-126)
- Leg 2: Over 6.5 Goals (+106)
- Leg 3: Yegor Sharangovich 3+ Shots on Goal (-135)
The Calgary Flames (12-8-4) wrap up a four-game road trip against the Pittsburgh Penguins (9-12-4) at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET. This game can be viewed on the NHL Network.
The Flames suffered a 5-2 loss in Columbus on Friday and have a quick turnaround with no rest. Calgary is 1-1-0 this season when playing on no rest while going 1-5-1 last season in the second end of a back-to-back situation. The goal differential in those games was -9, which is a bad sign for Calgary.
The Flames are 0-2-1 in the first three games of the road trip to follow up a four-game winning streak. The over has cashed in three of the past four outings.
For the Penguins, they surprised the Boston Bruins 2-1 behind Tristan Jarry as a moderate underdog (+149) as the under (5.5) cashed. Pittsburgh has won consecutive games in regulation for the first time this season. The under has a slight 3-2-0 edge in the past five games.
Dan Vladar (4-4-3, 2.59 GAA, .905 SV%, one shutout) is expected to get the starting nod for the Flames opposite Alex Nedeljkovic (3-4-3, 3.42 GAA, .877 SV%) in the goaltender battle.
Calgary has won five of the past seven games, although Pittsburgh has won three of the past four meetings at home. Letâs back the Penguins on the Moneyline, while playing the over, which has cashed in three straight meetings in this series.
We look to the Flames for shots on goal (SOG) in this battle, too. Yegor Sharangovich has registered three or more shots in four of the past five outings, averaging 4.8 SOG during the span. Letâs take Sharangovich at 3+ SOG for the third leg of this SGP.
Parlay Odds: +484
Nashville Predators at Minnesota Wild
- Leg 1: Minnesota Wild Moneyline (-154)
- Leg 2: Under 5.5 Goals (+100)
- Leg 3: Kirill Kaprizov Anytime Goal Scorer (+120)
The Nashville Predators (7-12-5) and the Minnesota Wild (15-4-4) tangle at the XCel Energy Center in St. Paul - Minnesotaâs capital city.
Things havenât exactly gone according to plan for the Predators this season. The team went out and made a splash in the free-agent market with Steven Stamkos and Brady Skjei, but itâs been a slow go for Nashville to date. The Predators have dropped two straight games by a 3-2 score in overtime. Oddly enough, it has four 3-2 overtime losses across the past nine games.
These teams have split the previous eight meetings, with three games decided in overtime. Six of those eight games have been decided by a single goal, so this should be a very good and entertaining affair.
The Wild won 3-2 against the Chicago Blackhawks last night behind Marc-Andre Fleury, so Filip Gustavsson is expected to be in net for the home side. Gustavsson (10-4-3, 2.06 GAA, .929 SV%, two shutouts) has been super sharp this season. Heâll likely be opposed by Scott Wedgewood (1-2-1, 3.69 GAA, .878 SV%).
Itâs a good idea to back the Wild at home on the Moneyline, if youâre a bit of a conservative bettor, while rolling the dice on the Wild -1.5 puck line(+164) if youâre a little more out of the box. In addition, weâll play the under at even-money.
Itâs rather simplistic, but weâll go with Kirill Kaprizov as an anytime goal scorer, too. He has 13 goals and 19 points with a +15 rating and six power-play points in the past 19 games. Itâs hard to believe he can still be had at plus-money, albeit as the chalk among the anytime goal scorer props.
Parlay Odds: +580
