NHL Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks: Tuesday (2/27)

The NHL is back with a full 12-game slate on Tuesday, giving us plenty of betting markets to wager during the 2024 playoff push. In this article, we’ll target one of these matchups and construct a Same Game Parlay to increase the odds for a nice payout while enjoying action on the ice.

We’re 0-2 so far with our Same Game Parlays, coming close the first time on a +899 SGP, hitting on the Senators puck line -1.5, and Brady Tkachuk scoring an anytime goal. Under 6.5 total goals was the leg that didn’t hit, as Columbus managed to score three times in a 6-3 losing effort. The next SGP was a lot less close to cashing, as the Florida Panthers beat Ottawa in overtime 3-2. While the Panthers won as -245 moneyline favorites, they didn’t cash their team total for over 3.5 goals (-164) and Carter Verhaeghe logged an assist instead of extending his goal-scoring streak, which resulted in 1/3 legs hitting on a +206 SGP.

Now, we’re due to hit one, with a ton of good games to target on Tuesday’s slate. Make sure to follow Matt MacKay on Twitter to get more free plays and NHL best bets.

Tampa Bay Puck Line (+176)

Tampa Bay is 2-3 in their last five games played but currently riding a two-game win streak on the road. The Lightning have won both road contests against the Islanders and Devils by at least two goals, so returning to Philadelphia should extend their hot streak on opponent ice.

The last time Tampa Bay played at Wells Fargo Arena in late January, Nikita Kucherov led the way with a hat trick, scoring three goals en route to a 6-3 win over the Flyers. Samuel Ersson has been confirmed as the starting netminder for Philadelphia, getting a rest during their 7-6 loss at Pittsburgh on Sunday, but he was lit up in the crease against Tampa Bay, surrendering four goals on 19 shots. Additionally, the Flyers have failed to cover the puck line in nine straight home games against Atlantic opponents, so this is a solid wager to make at +176 odds.

Brayden Point Any Time Goal Scorer (+150)

The first-line attack of Tampa Bay is electric. Comprised of Kucherov, Brandon Hagel, and Brayden Point, these three have accounted for 90 goals together this season. Point is the most consistent goal scorer of late, lighting the lamp in four of his last five games played, including a goal on only one shot against Ersson at Wells Fargo Center last month.

He’s taking three to six shots on goal per game and benefits from Kucherov’s passing ability, finishing in front of the net consistently for the Lightning. Point has jumped up from in the any time goal scorer market from earlier, plus he’s on fire, facing a volatile goaltender, making this the second leg of our SGP.

Tampa Bay 1st Period Result (3 way) (+170)

Instead of a point total line, we’re going into the first period market, specifically targeting Tampa Bay to hold a lead after the first 20 minutes of play. The Lightning were up 2-0 after 20 minutes the last time they played the Flyers, plus, Philadelphia has lost the first period in seven consecutive games played on Tuesday.

Since this is a 3 way bet, a tie means we lose, but Tampa Bay should come out firing and get an early lead after the opening period wraps up. +170 is fantastic value, making this the final leg of our SGP in the Lightning vs. Flyers matchup.

Same Game Parlay: +689

Tampa Bay needs to dominate Philadelphia if we want to cash this +689 SGP. Their current form is trending upward, while Philadelphia is 1-4 straight up in their last five games. Brayden Point has been pouring in goals lately, skating on a loaded first-line attack and facing Samuel Ersson, who surrendered four goals on under 20 shots the last time these two teams faced each other.

With Philadelphia’s struggles in the opening period, Tampa Bay is poised to strike early, and the Flyers haven’t covered a puck line in nine straight games against Atlantic Division opponents. The Lightning are 3-0 H2H against Philadelphia in their last three contests and have gone 4-2 ATS on the road in their last ten games. The Flyers, conversely, are 3-2 ATS at home and 2-5-1 straight up as an underdog. This is a great way to enjoy Tuesday night’s action with lucrative +689 odds that will lead us to our first SGP win in three attempts.
