Most NHL teams have had their fate determined for the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, a couple of teams remain in contention for a Wild Card seed as the regular season draws to a close this week. The Calgary Flames are the only team left in the Western Conference to control their destiny.
The Flames get a tough matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights at home on Tuesday night. Calgary is currently two points behind St. Louis and three points behind Minnesota. Both of those teams occupy the current Wild Card seeds in the West. However, they only have one game left on their schedule, compared to two games for Calgary.
My last NHL Same Game Parlay suffered a tremendously bad beat. The Dallas Stars held a 5-2 lead in the final minute of regulation at home against Vancouver but proceeded to give up three straight goals in the last 60 seconds of regulation, which cost us our +182 NHL SGP.

Tuesday's NHL SGP: Vegas Golden Knights vs. Calgary Flames
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Vegas Golden Knights (-126) vs. Calgary Flames (+105) | O/U 5.5 (-118/-104)
Calgary +1.5 (-320)
There’s no doubt about which team is more motivated in tonight’s matchup between the Flames and Golden Knights. Vegas has already clinched a playoff berth and will be playing without talented defenseman, Alex Pietrangelo, while also potentially missing Jack Eichel.
Calgary has lost both games against Vegas outright this season. They recently took the Golden Knights to overtime at home in the Saddledome on April 5th, where they’ll host Vegas once again.
The Flames have covered +1.5 puck line in six straight games. Their season is on the line and they are in must-win mode. Expect Calgary to ride the home crowd and Dustin Wolf in the crease, who has allowed two goals in three of his past four starts.
Backing Calgary +1.5 is a solid first leg to start our NHL Same Game Parlay.
Under 7.5 Total Goals (-460)
Both of these teams play good defense, so I’m not anticipating a flurry of goals in this matchup. Under 7.5 total goals has hit in 12 straight games for Calgary, while hitting in seven of Vegas’ last eight games. However, it should be noted that the Golden Knights just beat Nashville 5-3 during their last game played at home on Saturday.
Oddsmakers have the total set to 5.5 and it’s ticked down in the direction of the under. I’m buying a couple of goals and laying the juice at -460 for the second leg between the Flames and Golden Knights.
Blake Coleman 2+ Shots on Goal (-225)
We’ll close out with Calgary’s second-line winger, Blake Coleman, to record at least two shots on goal. Coleman earns additional opportunities on the Flames’ second powerplay unit.
Averaging over 17 minutes time on ice in five straight games, expect the Flames to lean on Coleman in the offensive zone. He’s recorded two or more shots on goal in three of his last five matchups, including two against Vegas on April 5th. He’s also coming off of a five-shot outing against San Jose during Calgary’s last game played on Saturday.
NHL SGP (+134)
This NHL Same Game Parlay is currently +134 odds without the NHL SGP 25% Profit Boost Token available to claim and apply on FanDuel Sportsbook. Claim it and boost this NHL SGP to +167 odds.
We need Calgary to cover +1.5, which they’ve got plenty of motivation to hit with their playoff hopes on the line against an opponent who has already clinched. Next, we need under 7.5 total goals, which has hit in 12 straight games for the Flames. The third and final leg requires 2+ shots on goal from Blake Coleman, who has hit this number in three of his past five matchups, including against Vegas 10 days ago.
Let’s cash our final NHL SGP of the 2024-25 regular season and regain momentum heading into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
