NHL Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (Golden Knights vs. Stars)

A crucial game for the Stars, this is a must-win because you do not want to go down 3-0 in the series. Both games have been very close, so the Stars can easily win and stay in contention.

Vegas Golden Knights at Dallas Stars

  • Leg 1: Golden Knights Moneyline (+120)
  • Leg 2: OVER 5.5 Total Goals (-110)
  • Leg 3: UNDER 1.5 Total First Period Goals (-115)

The Stars again had a lead in Game 2 but could not hold it down, allowing the Golden Knights to force and win in overtime.

Dallas had a better performance overall in that game. They were more aggressive to the net and had the expected goal advantage in each period.

The credit has to go to Adin Hill, who has stepped up for the injured Laurent Brossoit with another outstanding performance saving six-of-seven high-danger shots and a .929 save percentage. Dallas’ best players have been coming through so, with Jason Robertson having a goal in both games and Roope Hintz coming through in Game 1. The pressure of those guys getting through Hill has broken the Vegas goaltender, and most of the other role players have been left off the stat line.

The Golden Knights’ star skaters have also played well. Chandler Stephenson, Jonathan Marchessault, and Mark Stone each had a goal and an assist in Game 2, with Stone and Stephenson each having three points in the series.

This is the second game in a row where Jake Oettinger has not come through. Now in these two games, he has a .885 save percentage, 3.43 GAA, and has given up back-to-back overtime goals. Oettinger has not played well at all during the playoffs and has -4.5 goals saved above expected -0.75 wins above replacement. What made the Stars so successful during the season was how well Oettinger played throughout the season. Even on subpar performances, the offense was able to do their part, but right now, neither side has been successful.

There is still optimism for the Stars as they head home. Each game has been close, they’re getting great opportunities near the net, and the blue line has been good. If they can get a couple of good bounces, they can be back in this series.

The largest factor has been and will continue to be goaltending. Oettinger has not played well at all during the playoffs, and it’s starting to catch up with the Stars. At the moment, even at home, he’s difficult to trust.
