NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks: Boston Bruins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs – Saturday (4/20)

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are finally here! We’ll be treated to some great first-round matchups, including a great series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins. The initial puck drop is set for Saturday Night from TD Garden.

The Maple Leafs and Bruins have played each other four times during the 2023-24 regular season, with Boston sweeping Toronto 4-0. Two of these wins were by a one-goal margin, while the previous two games that were played in March resulted in Boston winning 4-1 both times.

Game 1 is set for a prime-time puck drop on Saturday night, following the New York Islanders vs. Carolina Hurricanes matchup. Make sure to follow me @Matt_MacKay_ on X to get more free plays, NHL Prop Bets, and NHL best bets during the week.

Boston Bruins First Period Moneyline (+170)

Boston’s dominance against Toronto tends to start quickly following the first puck drop. The Bruins have won the first period in four consecutive games against the Maple Leafs, meaning they are 4-0 in the first period against them this season. This shouldn’t change at all during a home playoff game, with superior goaltending and defensive talent. Ilya Samsonov is a liability in the crease for Toronto, allowing 11 goals in his last two starts, so expect another fast start for Boston on Saturday night, winning the first period outright at a solid +170 odds.

David Pastrnak Any Time Goal Scorer (+100)

Boston’s star goal scorer, David Pastrnak, has been on the schnide a bit lately when it comes to goal scoring. However, Pastrnak has scored a goal against Toronto at TD Garden in five of the past six matchups, so he’s due to light the lamp against a shaky goaltender. His five-goal goal drought won’t last much longer, so fueled by a raucous home playoff environment, along with a streaky Toronto netminder, betting on Pastrnak to score a goal at even odds is a great second leg in our Same Game Parlay.

Boston Bruins Moneyline (-130)

This comes as no surprise based off of our analysis in the intro, but the Bruins have been red-hot against Toronto all season. This shouldn’t change on Saturday night, even with Auston Matthews’ elite goal scoring presence. The Bruins have lost three of their past four games outright, but these were mostly meaningless contests, as Boston locked up an early playoff seed. They are 5-0 against the Maple Leafs dating back to last April, so we’re not going to fade them at this price, laying -130 on the moneyline.

Same Game Parlay: +418

To cash our +418 Same Game Parlay wager, we need Boston to start fast and finish strong. The Bruins are +170 to win the first period, which they’ve accomplished in all four games this season. Next, we need David Pastrnak to end his goal scoring slump, which he’ll have plenty of chances to do against Samsonov, who has allowed five goals in each of his previous starts for Toronto. Oddsmakers seem to think he’ll get it done, giving Pastrnak even odds to score a goal on Saturday night.

The last leg of this SGP requires the Bruins to hold the lead and wind up securing a win in Game 1, cashing their -130 moneyline odds at home in front of their fans. Toronto has four consecutive losses as well, so it’s not like they are trending any better heading into Game 1. A +418 SGP is a great way to start off the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs.
