The Honda Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach Garden, FL will play host to the Tour this week as the lighter than average field offers a ton of value for bettors willing to dig deep enough. In what will be the most challenging non-major event of the season, let’s take a closer look at this week’s field and see who might find success come Sunday.

Top-20 Finish
Billy Horschel (-110 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
After a relatively quiet 2020-21, Horschel has six made cuts in six events played this season and no finishes worse than T36. The last time we saw him was the Waste Management Open, a T6 that included a 66 on Sunday to put himself right in contention as the weekend winded down.
In his four appearances here at PGA National, Horschel has no finishes worse than T23 and on a course that eats players alive, has been one of its best players over the past few years. Add in a red hot putter which currently has him #2 on Tour in SG: Putting (.972), and I love for Horschel to finish inside the top 20 come Sunday afternoon in his home state of Florida.
Russell Knox (+260 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
We’ve seen a ton of variance this week in the Russell Knox market, with his outright being as high as +6500 at DraftKings and +4100 at FanDuel. While those long odds are both warranted, I do think we see him finish lower than expected this week.
Following a bizarre three-week run where he’s finished T33 in his last three straight outings, Knox is starting to heat up and comes into this event ranked inside the top 10 in SG: Approach and SG: Proximity, two key metrics for success at PGA National.
In what is one of the top three-hole stretches in golf referred to as “The Bear Trap” (15, 16, and 17), Knox leads the tour with a -6 over his eight events played here. With a T2 and T3 in here in the past, I like for Knox to make the cut and be near the top come Sunday afternoon.
