Last Meeting: December 25, 2017 - The Eagles defeated the Raiders 19-10 in Philadelphia.
Overview
Although the Eagles only lost by six points in their Week 6 home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the final score didn't necessarily indicate how lopsided that game was. Philadelphia fell behind big right out of the gates. If not for a second-half rally, they would have been blown out. In addition, the offense continues to fluctuate a great deal week-to-week in terms of performance. Dual-threat quarterback Jalen Hurts only had 115 yards passing in the most recent loss, a major cause for concern considering that the Bucs' defense's weakness is the secondary. Facing a similar situation this week against the Raiders, the onus will be on Hurts to perform better.
While it wasn't pretty through the air in Week 6, Hurts did rush for 44 yards and two touchdowns. DeVonta Smith continues to be his top target in the passing game. Second-year pro Quez Watkins has also been a pleasant surprise. However, his numbers are not indicative of how many times he has gotten open this season. Look for the speedster to make his presence felt against the banged-up Raiders secondary. Speaking of secondaries, the Eagles' defensive backfield has exceeded expectations thus far. It will be interesting to see how the team utilizes star corner Darius Slay in coverage on Sunday.
Last week's thrashing of the Denver Broncos on the road for the Raiders was a massive surprise. This team has had plenty of distractions off the field in recent weeks, but they came out and took it to their division rivals last Sunday. After the offense had struggled mightily in back-to-back losses, Derek Carr found his footing again. He finished with over 340 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns. Speedster Henry Ruggs III got behind the Denver defense for a long touchdown. The Raiders also got pass-catching back Kenyan Drake more involved last week. He had both a rushing and receiving touchdown in the win.
While Las Vegas is dealing with endless injuries on the defensive side of the ball, the good news is that most of the starters appear on track to play this week. The team remains without both of their top two cover corners in Damon Arnette and Trayvon Mullen. Both players are on IR. Casey Hayward Jr. has proven to be a great offseason pickup for the Raiders in their absence. However, the onus will fall heavily on the defensive front to pressure Hurts and help the secondary.

- Eagles are just 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games.
- The total has gone under in five of the Eagles' last seven games.

- Raiders are 5-1 ATS in their last six head-to-head matchups against the Eagles.
Bottom Line
The NFL betting lines for this matchup have not experienced an awful lot of movement. The Raiders have been bet up to half a point after opening at -2.5 to be currently laying an even field goal. The total has also only risen half a point from the opening 48.5 to 49. Despite the Raiders being Las Vegas' team, the Eagles are a public underdog in this spot. 54% of tickets are on the visitors.
While this is a home game for the Raiders, expect plenty of Eagles fans to be present and vocal in Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. That being said, it's challenging to back a public dog, especially this current Eagles outfit. The offense has not been a pretty operation to watch so far this season. It's much easier to trust Derek Carr to make the critical plays in a close game than it is Jalen Hurts at this juncture. Last week was certainly an encouraging one as the Vegas offense got back on track. Expect them to continue rolling on Sunday against a Philly defense that has significant issues in the secondary.
Pick: Raiders -3
