Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens Odds & Game Pick (2022)

In what will very likely be the last NFL game of Steelers’ QB Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers need to win and get help to slide into the NFL Postseason. Ditto for the Ravens, who need even more help, in addition to beating their arch-nemesis in this one.

Even still, there’s plenty to play for in one of the biggest rivalries in sports, as both teams look to finish above .500 once again. Let’s take a closer look.

Details

  • Opening Line: Ravens -5, O/U 41.5
  • Current Line: Ravens -5, O/U 41.5
  • Last meeting: December 5, 2021, Ravens 19, Steelers 20

Overview

In what ended up being the beginning of the end for the once AFC North-leading Ravens, the Steelers eked out a 20-19 win when these two faced off a month ago. After scoring with 12 seconds to go in regulation, the Ravens elected to go for a two-point conversion which they failed, giving Pittsburgh the win.

Like they have been the past three weeks, the Ravens will likely be without quarterback Lamar Jackson in this one as he continues to deal with an ankle injury.

For the Steelers, Roethlisberger will likely be without his center (calf) and top wide receiver in Diontae Johnson (COVID protocols) in what will all but certainly be the finale to his 18-year career. The last time we saw him on the field in an emotional final game at Heinz Field, Roethlisberger leaned on a heavy dose of rookie running back Najee Harris, who had a career-high 188 yards in their win over Cleveland.

Trends

  • Ravens are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games vs. teams with losing road records
  • Under is 5-2 in last seven Steelers/Ravens games in Baltimore
  • Away team is 7-3 ATS in last 10 meetings

Bottom Line

What could have been had to be going through Ben’s mind on Monday night, as Harris rushed for nearly 200 yards and carried the offense throughout. While we’ve seen this line creep towards the Ravens all week, it’s now heading back in the Steelers’ direction as more and more Ravens pop up on the injury report throughout the week.

As long as the Steelers have Defensive Player of the Year candidate TJ Watt, I expect the offense to be able to just enough to, at a minimum, keep this one around a field goal.

Pick: Steelers +5
