The Premier League players are now well rested after a week off following a frenzy of daily games from Boxing Day to January 6, and we could witness some of the highest caliber football thus far this year for Matchday 20.

Let’s take a look at a few of my favorite plays from this week’s matches.
Everton (+125) vs. Southampton (+230)
With six consecutive league losses and the second-highest goal differential in the league due to their aging, poor defense, Southampton is one of the most out-of-form clubs in the EPL.
Although Everton is also having trouble, their defense is solid, giving up the fifth-fewest goals in the league, and they are too well-organized to allow the Saints to runaway with this one. Demarai Gray has been a standout for Everton, scoring in both of their most recent matches, and his speed should be the difference for him.
In a match both sides need to stave off relegation, I like for Everton to take this one.

Manchester United (+320) vs. Manchester City (-120)
Don’t look now, but Manchester United appears to have entirely recovered since Cristiano Ronaldo left the team early last year. That will be put to the test in the derby, though, as they will be remembering City’s 6-3 thrashing at the Etihad in October.
However, since then, Erik ten Haag’s influence has become clear at the top, as United is currently on an eight-game winning streak at Old Trafford. Despite United’s momentum, the most dominant team in England is still heading to town, and it might all change via the feet of Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland.
However, City showed their strength against Chelsea in their most recent two games, and with Arsenal facing their own derby test, Pep Guardiola’s team has a chance to catch up to Arsenal if the Gunners lose. Despite being #2 on the table, Man City leads the EPL in goal differential at +29, as well as goals scored at 45. At the current pace, they are averaging a staggering 2.65 goals per game coming into this week.
You don’t get to back City at their present pricing too frequently, so I’m jumping at this number while I have the chance.
