Premier League Matchday 6 Odds, Picks & Predictions (2022)

EPL Matchday 6 already kicked off on Wednesday of this week, as West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur played to a 1-1 draw, among another host of games. With one game scheduled for Thursday, let’s take a closer look at the weekend slate and see where the value remains.

Saturday Games

Everton (+650) vs. Liverpool (-260)

Fabio Carvalho scored in stoppage time on Wednesday to lift Liverpool over Newcastle United in their first game of the week. They’ll now hit the road for a quick turnaround at Everton on Saturday. Yet to find the win column this season after five games, goals have been an issue for Everton, scoring just four through five games.

For Liverpool, a slow start to the season was followed up with a 9-0 shellacking of the recently promoted Bournemouth, as they now sit 6th on the table following Wednesday’s win. Despite the short rest, I like Liverpool to get it done here relatively easily during EPL Matchday 6, led by Luis Diaz and his five points on the season.

Pick: Liverpool -1 (+110)

Chelsea (-195) vs. West Ham United (+500)

West Ham United is another team who was already in action this week, tying Tottenham 1-1 on Wednesday in a closely contested game. Now, they’ll hit the road for this one to take on a Chelsea team who is still searching for their identity in this young season.

At the top of the formation, Raheem Sterling leads all Chelsea goal scorers with three goals, but no other players have more than one. In fact, through five games, Chelsea has scored just six goals to come into this one with a goal differential of -2.

The last time we saw them on the pitch, they were forced to grind out a 2-1 win over last-place Leicester, a team that currently sits at the bottom of the table with a record of 0-1-4.

As for West Ham United, three straight losses to start the season has been followed up with a win and a draw, as they’ve finally started to put some things together. The striker combo of Tomas Soucek and Pablo Fornals has big expectations this season, and I think we see them find success in this one against a Chelsea backline full of cracks.

While Liverpool has the more talented roster by a country mile here, I have this one closer to a coin flip and like the value that West Ham currently presents.

Pick: West Ham United +500
