Premier League Matchday 8 Odds, Picks & Predictions (2022)
Following a week that was postponed due to the death of the Queen, the English Premier League is slated to resume this week, starting with a Friday afternoon match between Aston Villa and Southampton. While there are multiple intriguing matchups on the sheet this week, letâs take a closer look at the two Iâm most intrigued with from a betting perspective.

Tottenham (-210) vs. Leicester (+550)
After starting the season with a 2-2 draw over Brentford, Leicester supporters had reason to believe theyâd be adequate this season and find themselves in the mix as the season dragged on. Nearly two months later, the expectations are quite different, as the team has gone on to lose their next five straight, accruing a -8 goal differential in the process.
The last time we saw them on the pitch was arguably the worst loss yet, a 5-2 defeat to Brighton to solidify a change is much needed. Currently sitting in last place on the table, the road now gets even tougher as they travel to Tottenham to take on a team yet to lose this season.
Currently sitting with a record of 4-2-0 in the Premier League, Tottenham has yet to lose but does come into this one following a Champions League loss to Sporting CP (2-0) on Tuesday. Picking up right where he left off last season, however, is Harry Kane, who to this point in the EPL season sits #3 on the scoring table with five goals through six games.
Look for him to add another hear against a week Leicester back line, as they pick up the win with relative ease.
Pick: Tottenham (-210)
Brentford (+270) vs. Arsenal (-125)
One of the surprises of this young EPL season thus far has been the play of Brentford, who, through five games, has lost just once, sitting #8 on the table with nine points and a goal differential of +6. Picking up a win last week against Leeds United, the road gets considerably tougher in this matchup as they welcome Arsenal to town.
Through six EPL games, the Gunners sit atop the table with 15 points (5-0-1), relying on a stingy defense as they come into this game with a goal differential of +7. In the strikerâs department, itâs been The Gabriel show to this point, as Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus have combined for six of the teamâs 14 goals
While they continue to get the attention, I like fellow striker Bukayo Saka to be the difference in this matchup and find the back of the net much as he did in their recent Champions League match vs. Manchester United.
Pick: Arsenal (-125)
