Purdue vs. UConn Same Game Parlay Picks (2024 NCAA Tournament)

The 2024 NCAA Tournament is at its finale, as UConn and Purdue battle it out on Monday, April 8 to claim the title of the top team in the nation. Both squads entered the tournament as No. 1 seeds and have since dominated, so it should be an exciting end to March Madness.

#1 UConn vs. #1 Purdue

Going into the Final Four, I was convinced the Huskies were on their way to their second consecutive Championship. However, Purdue has impressed me throughout this tournament, with just as strong a run as their counterpart. 

Like UConn, Purdue is well-rounded and can count on more than just their starting five. Zach Edey presents such a mismatch down low that it allows their guard to have plenty of wide-open shots. If Lance Jones, Braden Smith, and Fletcher Loyer are all on, it will be hard to stop the Boilermakers. 

Make no mistake: UConn is the #1 team in the country for a reason. But in getting to this point (regular season and tournament), Purdue had to face higher-quality opponents. In KenPom's Strength of Schedule Rating, Purdue is ranked #2, while UConn is ranked #20.

This game will depend on how well UConn defends Zach Edey. So far, this tournament not has been able to slow him down; he is averaging 28 points per game while scoring at least 20 or more in every game thus far. 

As for who will be tasked with doing the impossible, Donovan Clingan has been outstanding this tournament and has improved his draft stock drastically. But he has struggled when battling other good big men, and Zach Edey is a whole other kind of beast. When facing other bigs like Ryan Kalkbrenner, Armando Bacot, and Hunter Dickenson, he never eclipsed the 12-point mark while only hauling in a high of 7 rebounds.
