Raiders vs. Rams: NFL Thursday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Props (Week 14)

On Thursday night, the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Rams will square off in LA. Neither team has had the season they hoped for, with the Raiders clinging to playoff hopes at 5-7 and the Rams looking forward to next season at 3-9. The Raiders offense has been humming in recent weeks, while the Rams may be turning to Baker Mayfield on offense, with QB Matthew Stafford likely done for the season.

With a low game total of 43.5, there seems to be plenty of value on the board for TD props. Here are three props I’ll be playing on Thursday.

Cam Akers Anytime TD (+145 FanDuel)

Cam Akers has largely had a disappointing season in his first full year back from his 2021 Achilles injury. His usage has been spotty, and he’s been in and out of the lineup. Last week, however, Akers got back on track. He carried the ball 17 times and scored two goal-line TDs. This caps off a three-game run where Akers has 39 carries – the most he’s had over any three-game stretch this season.

Akers has a favorable matchup to score on Thursday. The Raiders have allowed 13 TDs in 12 games to opposing RBs. This puts them in the bottom quarter of the league in keeping opposing RBs out of the end zone. Given Akers’ recent usage and the Raiders’ struggles with stopping RBs, things are lining up for a TD.

When playing first TD props, I have a golden rule – if you can bet on a RB that receives the majority of his team’s goal line work with plus odds, you do it. Akers fits the bill here, and I expect him to get in the end zone against the Raiders.

Raiders D/ST Anytime TD (+500 DraftKings)

This one is definitely a bit of a longshot, but given the Rams’ struggles on offense, I think it’s worth a sprinkle. The Rams have allowed four defensive TDs this year – second most in the NFL. They’ve turned the ball over five times in their last two games. And to top things off, they’re likely going to start Baker Mayfield, who was claimed off waivers 48 hours earlier.

Las Vegas’ defense hasn’t been the best in the league this year, but they’ve forced five turnovers in their last five games and have scored two TDs this season. They have playmakers, and they’ve been playing opportunistic football in recent weeks. They come into the game as a TD favorite as well, meaning it’s likely the Rams will have to make some risky plays to hang in the game.

Don’t bet your whole bankroll here, but I think there’s serious value in this longshot prop.

Davante Adams First TD (+550 DraftKings)

With enough of a sample size to accurately reflect on the Davante Adams trade, it appears the Packers miss him more than he misses Green Bay. Adams has been one of the best WRs in the league yet again this year. In recent weeks Adams has caught fire, scoring 7 TDs in his last 5 games on an insane 67 targets.

The Rams’ defense is full of big names, but they’ve struggled to stop opposing WRs this year. They’ve allowed one TD per game to WRs – tied for 6th most in the NFL. Adams has torched the likes of Tariq Woolen, Pat Surtain, and Stephon Gilmore in recent weeks, and I don’t think the Rams’ defense is poised to hold up any better.

Adams’ Any Time TD prop is great if you’re looking for a sure thing, but given his first quarter production this season, I’ll play the longer odds on him to be the first TD scorer of the game.
