Rams vs. Packers: Monday Night Football Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions (Week 15)

Two of the top teams from last year’s NFC standings, the Packers (5-8) and Rams (4-9) haven’t had their 2022 campaign go nearly as smoothly. Both sides enter their Monday night matchup without much left to play for in the current season, with mathematical elimination around the corner in the coming weeks.

But even in a matchup between two losing teams, we can dig through the player props markets to find an edge on some winning plays.

A.J. Dillon (RB – GB): OVER 49.5 Rushing Yards (-113 via FanDuel)

It seems as though the player props markets haven’t yet caught up to the usage that Dillon sees in the Packers’ rushing offense. Dillon has rushed for 64 or more yards in three of the past four games and draws a favorable matchup against a Rams run defense that will still be without Aaron Donald on Monday night.

With Donald sidelined last week, the Rams allowed 99 rushing yards to Josh Jacobs. They have allowed a 60-yard rusher in three of their past five games, while Dillon has out-gained backfield mate Aaron Jones on the ground in three of his last five contests.

The Packers are favored by seven points, so the game script should be perfect for another big Dillon game on Monday. Though Jones will remain involved as a pass-catcher, I like Dillon to carry the bulk of the rushing workload on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Dillon’s between-the-tackles running style should fit what Green Bay needs to do against the Donald-less Rams.

Allen Lazard (WR – GB): OVER 42.5 Receiving Yards (-113 via FanDuel)

The Rams have surrendered 228.6 passing yards per game this season to rank 22nd in the NFL in the category. Their numbers have been even worse recently, with Los Angeles permitting 268.3 passing yards per game over its last three contests, ranking 26th in the NFL over that span.

As Christian Watson continues his breakout season, he will demand significant attention from the defense. That could allow Lazard to slide under the radar for a productive night on Monday. And based on the line for his receiving yardage at FanDuel, Lazard won’t have to do anything too groundbreaking to pay off for sports bettors in this matchup.

Lazard has accumulated 45 or more receiving yards in six of his last seven games, making the FanDuel line of 42.5 receiving yards particularly attainable for the 27-year-old wideout. Lazard has Aaron Rodgers’ trust and should get his usual allotment of targets Monday. Play this prop at FanDuel, as DraftKings has the line two yards higher (44.5) with less favorable odds on an Over bet (-115).

Tyler Higbee (TE – LAR): UNDER 3.5 Receptions (-160 via DraftKings)

Higbee has seen hit-and-miss involvement in the Rams’ passing game throughout this season. He’s finished as many games with 7+ receptions (five) as he has with two or fewer grabs. All five of his games with two or fewer catches have come within his last seven contests, a recent trend that could continue in Monday’s matchup based on the tendencies of the Green Bay defense.

The Packers have allowed fewer receptions to tight ends than any other team in the NFL this season. Green Bay has permitted just 46 catches to opposing tight ends on the year. Targets to the tight end position are also scarce against the Packers, as the 64 targets tight ends have garnered against Green Bay also ranks as the lowest number in the league.

As the consistency of Higbee’s receiving workload has diminished during the latter portion of the season, Monday’s matchup against Green Bay figures to fall in line with that trend.
