Rams vs. Packers: NFL Monday Night Football Same Game Parlay (Week 15)

On Monday night, the Rams head to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers. Before the season, this was expected to be one of the games of the year. Unfortunately for these two teams, they’ve had largely disappointing seasons and sit on the outside of the playoff picture. While the Rams are already thinking ahead to next year, the Packers have a chance at a playoff spot if they can win out and get some help.

Green Bay comes into the game as seven-point favorites and the game’s total sits at 39.5. The books expect the Packers to win handily in a low-scoring game. I agree with this outlook, and I’ll be playing this three-leg parlay on Draftkings Sportsbook to take advantage.

Leg 1: Packers -3.5 (-200)

The Rams come into this game as big underdogs, and rightfully so. They beat the Raiders last week to move to 4-9 but were outplayed for the majority of the game. Prior to that game, they had lost six in a row.

The Packers, on the other hand, are playing good football as of late. They’re 2-2 over the last four weeks, including a win over Dallas and a close loss to Philadelphia in which they put up 33 points. They’ve worked through their early-season offensive struggles, averaging 27.3 points over that four-game stretch. And coming off a bye, they should be in a good spot coming into this game.

Given that the Packers are desperate for a win, while the Rams are playing like a team looking forward to next year, I think Green Bay wins this game. This alternate line gives us a bit more room to work with if the Rams play well.

Leg 2: Christian Watson 45+ Receiving Yards (-130)

The Packers’ offensive breakout in recent weeks can be attributable in large part to Christian Watson’s emergence. After a bumpy start to the season, Watson has 15 catches for 313 yards and 7 TDs over the past four games. He’s put up more than 45 yards in each of these games.

Against the Rams, I expect Watson to have another nice game. Despite a secondary with some big names, Los Angeles allows 161 yards per game to opposing WRs – the 12th most in the NFL. I expect Rodgers to target his WRs to take advantage of this relative weakness for the Rams.

With star CB Jalen Ramsey likely to be lined up with Allen Lazard, Watson should be able to get plenty of opportunities on Monday night. I expect him to be one of the focal points of the Packers’ offense. With his big play ability, he should be able to break 45 yards once again.

Leg 3: Baker Mayfield O174.5 Pass Yds (-165)

After being released by the Panthers a couple of weeks ago, many thought Baker Mayfield’s time as an NFL starter could be coming to an end. Surprisingly, he was able to sign with the Rams and start against the Raiders just a couple of days later. He not only played, but he played pretty well, putting up 230 yards on 22/35 passing.

While the Packers’ defense is better than the Raiders’, I would expect Mayfield to play just as well on Monday. He’s had a couple of weeks in this offense now, after playing well with just 48 hours of studying under his belt in his first start. As seven-point underdogs, it’s likely Mayfield will be forced to throw the ball often while playing from behind.

I think Baker will post a solid line, even if the Packers win handily on Monday night.
