Arizona Diamondbacks @ Atlanta Braves
The Diamondbacks and Braves are back at it this evening after Atlanta erased a 5-3 lead in the ninth, ultimately winning 6-5 in extra innings. This National League tilt features a pitching matchup between Brandon Pfaadt and Max Fried. First pitch is set for 7:20 p.m. ET From Truist Park in Atlanta.
Fried didn't make it out of the first frame in his season debut against the Phillies. The left-hander lasted just 0.2 innings, conceding three earned runs on two hits and three free passes. This is probably an outlier performance for the 30-year-old, but it's certainly not reassuring if you're looking to back Fried in any capacity tonight. I'm looking to fade him as he takes on a Snakes squad that's slashing .265/.308/.367 against him over 49 at-bats.
As for Pfaadt, we do not have any head-to-head numbers against Atlanta. However, with two top-tier offenses, I will play the over. No surprise here: Atlanta ranked first in both team batting average (.297) and OPS (.881) through the first week of the season. Arizona ranked fourth in average (.282) and fifth in OPS (.821). Let's sit back and enjoy these two dynamic offenses; give me the over.
Bet: Over 9.0 (-105)

Atlanta Hawks @ Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets are looking to secure the first seed in the Western Conference, and they'll host the Hawks on Saturday. Atlanta has clinched a Play-In spot but will want to host the first game. Both teams will be looking to score first, but there is one matchup that sticks out over any others.
Atlanta's results this year show that they're a solid First Basket team. However, they do have one weakness: opposing centers. Unfortunately for them, they'll be going up against the best center in the league. Nikola Jokic will look to add to an eye-popping total for First-Basket winners.
Jokic is the engine of the Denver offense. He can dish the ball, but he can also score like few others in the league. His First-Basket scores indicate that. Seventeen on the season is one of the league's best marks, and I like him to add to that Saturday against Atlanta.
Bet: Nikola Jokic (+310)

Vancouver Canucks @ Los Angeles Kings
It's been a crazy season for the Kings. They were championship favorites early on, and now they'll likely have the final Wild Card spot. The offense has not been great all year. They look dominant at times, but with injuries and bad play, they lack the firepower. Their defense, from the blue line to the goaltending, has kept them in contention.
Injuries are the theme of the Canucks at the moment. No Thatcher Demko, who's been one of the best goalies, ranking sixth in goals allowed (2.47) and fourth in save percentage (.917). They also still don't have Elias Lindholm, and while he hasn't been great since being traded to Vancouver, he's still a great center to have.
Casey DeSmith has struggled lately for Vancouver, losing three straight, including against LA. The Kings are playing better hockey at the moment, while the Canucks have struggled to win with these injuries.
Pick: Kings ML (-120)
