MLB Best Bets

Chicago Cubs (+142) vs. Minnesota Twins (-168) | O/U 7.5 (-115)

The Cubs took last night’s series opener in 6-2 fashion over the Twins. The two sides are back at it this afternoon with a pitching matchup featuring Hayden Wesneski and Joe Ryan. First pitch is scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET from Target Field in Minneapolis, MN.

With the way both of these starting pitchers have been throwing, I’m not overthinking this one and locking in the under. Wesneski has been on fire recently, surrendering just three earned runs over his last three starts, which have spanned 17.0 innings. The right-hander has thrown three quality starts over his previous five outings.

On the flip side, Ryan has matched Wesneski in allowing just three earned runs over his last three outings. The rising star has six quality starts in seven outings this year, and he’s looking like a potential dark horse Cy Young candidate. All things considered, we should be in for a lower-scoring affair with two excellent starters on the bump.

Bet: Under 7.5 (-105)

NHL Playoffs Best Bets

Jason Robertson OVER 0.5 Assists (-130)

The Stars are coming into tonight having won back-to-back matchups. The last time they won three straight was to close out the first series in the playoffs, and they want to do it again. They’ve won these games by a large margin due to Roope Hintz and Robertson finally being a part of the equation. Over the last two games, Hintz has three goals while Robertson has four assists.

Robertson is the team’s regular season points leader, so it was only a matter of time before he broke through. He doesn’t need to light the lamp to make a difference, so count on him to grab another assist in tonight’s clincher.
