Cleveland Browns @ Seattle Seahawks

Sometimes, you just get a hunch, and I've got a hunch that this Browns-Seahawks game will be ugly. It helps that P.J. Walker will be under center again, but I also suspect Seattle's offense could have trouble moving the ball.

It's now well known that Cleveland has arguably the best defense in the NFL, which ranks second in EPA. That unit just served up 38 points to Gardner Minshew and the Colts, and I'm expecting a locked-in effort from Jim Schwartz's group. Cleveland is second in the league in pressure rate and could have a ton of success against a Seattle offensive line that's been in flux much of the year. And we've seen Geno Smith crumble under duress this season, most recently against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Both teams also rank top-10 defensively in run defense EPA, so I don't expect either team to find much success on the ground. To top it off, both teams are pretty banged up at the skill positions. Cleveland could be without starting running back Jerome Ford, leaving veteran Kareem Hunt to handle the bulk of the duties. Meanwhile, D.K. Metcalf should return after a one-week absence, but Tyler Lockett and Ken Walker both haven't practiced yet this week.

In a battle between two top-1o defenses and two short-handed offenses, I'll take a shot on this game being ugly.

Bet: Under 37.5  (-112)

Chicago Bulls @ Detroit Pistons

It's hard to believe, but the Bulls are laying just a single point on the road in this battle Saturday evening.

Chicago opened the season with a 20-point loss against Oklahoma City, but it quickly rectified the situation with a 104-103 victory in overtime last night. While the Bulls have failed to cover in either game, facing the Pistons will be the elixir to cure their ills.

Detroit is coming off a 111-99 victory in Charlotte on Friday night, covering two in a row. But the books all might be overvaluing the victory against the Hornets, who will not be a great team. In addition, the Pistons just haven't had any modicum of success against the Bulls in recent seasons.

Chicago has won 15 consecutive games in this series while going 13-2 ATS during the span. The last win for Detroit in this series came on March 10, 2019, at home. And for an added bonus, play the Under, too, which is 11-3 across the past 14 encounters between these teams. The Under has cashed in both games for the Pistons so far, while the total went low for the Bulls in Friday's game against the Raptors, despite OT after an Over result in the opener.

Bets: Bulls -1.0 (-110) & Under 217.5 (-110)

Arizona Diamondbacks at Texas Rangers

  • Leg 1: Aroldis Garcia 2+ Total Bases (+100)
  • Leg 2: Under 9.5 Total Runs (-160)
  • Leg 3: Merill Kelly 6+ Strikeouts (+165)

Jordan Montgomery has been an incredible pickup for the Rangers. He came in and was vital from the start, going 4-2 with a 2.79 ERA in 11 starts with the Rangers. He continued to pitch well through the playoffs, posting a 1.99 ERA and grabbing two wins in the ALCS.

If someone can help the Diamondbacks tie this series up, it's Merill Kelly. He has three starts in this postseason, all on the road. In his last start, when Arizona was on the brink of elimination, Kelly pitched a gem going five innings, allowing one earned and striking eight.

With how exciting Game 1 was, you hope this series can go the distance. It's impossible to pick a winner, but this should be an exciting matchup.

Parlay Odds: +761

NASCAR Best Bets

Xfinity 500 @ Martinsville

Getting Kyle Larson at plus-money for a T5 at Martinsville feels like an extreme value. The Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) driver qualified on the pole of this race a year ago and won Martinsville in the spring.

Perhaps even more impressive, the No. 5 car came from the rear to win the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro and also finished third at our other comp track of New Hampshire. Already being locked into the Championship 4, Larson has one objective: win the race. That mentality should put him in a great position to cash on this placement prop.

Bet: Kyle Larson Top 5 (+125)
