San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Super Bowl LVIII)

We are leaning towards a shootout in this game after watching the Lions put up 24 first-half points in the NFC Championship. I believe the Chiefs are almost a sure bet to get to 27-28 points in this game. The key for this over is how the Chiefs’ defense fares against this potent 49ers offense. To make matters worse for KC, DE Charles Omenihu tore his ACL vs. the Ravens and is out for this game.

That said, it would be a shock if one of these teams didn’t reach 24 points. Even if the Chiefs lose this game, I still see Mahomes putting up a lot of yards against this 49ers secondary. Andy Reid will go down swinging and will not hesitate to leave this game in the hands of his phenomenal quarterback. Although the 49ers are probably keying in and game-planning for Travis Kelce, Mahomes will still find a way to get him the ball, as they have great chemistry when the play breaks down.

On the other side of the ball, George Kittle could really be the X-Factor for the 49ers. If he’s having success in the passing game, look out. Kyle Shanahan is a dangerous play-caller when this offense is clicking, and there’s almost no chance of stopping all of their different weapons on the ground and through the air. If the run game opens up early on and Kittle gets touches over the middle, it could be a long day for this Chiefs defense.

Don’t be surprised if we see 60+ points from these potent offenses with two genius offensive minds behind it all.

NBA Best Bets

Indiana Pacers @ New York Knicks

The Pacers (29-24) hit the road to battle the Knicks (33-19), and this is a rather curious line. Indiana enters as a 4.5-point favorite across the board despite the Knicks having a better overall record.

Indiana is also coming off a 131-109 beatdown from the visiting Golden State Warriors, and the Pacers are just 2-4 straight up (SU) in the past six outings and 1-4 ATS in the past five games. Meanwhile, New York won 109-105 as a 2-point favorite in the most recent meeting on Feb. 1, also at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks have dropped two of the past three games at home, while they’re still a healthy 10-2 SU across the past 12 outings and 7-3 ATS in the past 10 contests. The Knicks have PG Jalen Brunson (ankle) listed as questionable, which could be part of why the Knicks are short ‘dogs at home. But the Knicks are still worth a roll of the dice, catching points at home.

Bets: Knicks +4.5 (+106)

Colorado Avalanche @ Florida Panthers

The Avalanche have been put through a gauntlet coming back from the break. They will be playing their fourth game in six days. Not only that, but the matchups have been against the Rangers, Devils, Hurricanes and now Panthers – All good teams. The Avalanche dropped their last three games, as the lack of offensive depth is showing itself. They have trouble winning unless the top lines produce.

The Panthers are hot right now, winning five of their last six. Both sides are contributing, scoring 21 points and allowing 11. Matthew Tkachuk struggled the first few months, but he was hot in January, tallying 24 points (11 G, 13 A) in 13 games. Sergei Bobrovsky has also supported this team with a 2.50 GAA.

This is a brutal stretch for the Avalanche; they’re not playing their best hockey and now have to face one of the better overall rosters in the league.

Pick: Panthers Moneyline (-128)
