Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs

Betting on Brandon Staley isn't fun, but all Los Angeles does is play close games. All of L.A.'s games this season have been decided by single digits, and this series has been awfully tight recently, with last year's contests both being decided by a field goal.

The Chargers have been a tough matchup for the Chiefs because they have the firepower to keep up with Patrick Mahomes' unit. But what's especially important this year is that Los Angeles has allowed the fourth-fewest yards to opposing tight ends this season. Shutting down Travis Kelce is critical to beating this year's version of the Chiefs, who lack proven threats on the outside.

Going on the road after another brutal loss in primetime is a tough spot for the Chargers, but I ultimately think this game will be tight until Los Angeles does something silly and sets up Kansas City for a game-winning field goal.

Bet: Chargers +5.5 (-110)

Philadelphia Flyers @ Dallas Stars

The Stars are playing well to start the season and have come away with a point in each game. The offense is 27th in points scored per game, but when you have Jake Oettinger between the pipes, you don't have to worry. His 1.58 goals allowed is the third-best (minimum three starts), and he's yet to allow a goal on a high-danger shot.

Flyers goalie Carter Hart was spectacular last year with 2.94 goals allowed, and he's on another great run to start the season as his 2.01 GAA is fourth-best (minimum three starts). This year, he's getting offense support with the Flyer averaging 3.00 goals per game, and the team has started 3-1-0.

Hart and Oettinger are very close in stats this year, and this will be an exciting matchup to watch.

Pick: Under 6.0 (-115)

4EVER 400 @ Homestead-Miami

Last week, it was Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) driver Kyle Larson who found victory lane as the favorite. Instead of backing the No. 5 at minus money in the placement market, we'll back his HMS teammate William Byron. The 25-year-old has the most wins (six), T10s (19) and average finish (11.3) in the Cup Series this season.

Dating back to 2022, Byron has the No. 1 average total speed ranking at the high-tire wear intermediates (5.43). That includes a win at Darlington I and P4 at Darlington II this year.

At Homestead a season ago, Byron won the pole, was No. 3 in driver rating (110.2), led 12% of laps (second-most) and was seventh in the total speed rankings (8.25). I'm on the outright, but I'll also hedge with this T5 placement prop.

Bet: William Byron Top 5 (+120)
