Spain vs. Germany

Spain have scored three or more goals in two of their four games, including four against Georgia in the Round of 16. Meanwhile, Germany have scored multiple goals in all but their relatively meaningless game against Switzerland. Yet, even with all the scoring each team has done at this tournament, this will be a low-scoring game.

We've seen both of these teams pick on weak competition thus far. In this match, neither team will get greedy or take needless chances. Spain have already played to two 1-0 wins at this tournament. They were firmly in control of both of those games despite the final scores. Spain will probably win the time of possession in this match, but it will be a tight match from start to finish, and we don't expect either side to get overly aggressive until one side has scored. After that, the leading team will play conservatively as they drain the clock.

Under 2.5 Goals (-132)

A low-scoring match really favors a tie in this situation. Spain is probably the better team on a neutral field. However, Germany will be playing in front of their home crowd with a spot in the semifinals on the line. Spain is slightly favored to win on the three-way moneyline, however, the prices for all three options are very close. Spain is +170, Germany is +180, and Tie is +210.

Because either of these teams truly could advance out of this stage, the tie is the right play. As we've already said, one goal is all either side is going to be looking for in this match. After that, the leading team will just be looking to avoid a mistake. Unfortunately, in this match, one mistake is all it takes for the game to get back to even. It’s also worth noting that when these two teams last met, they played to a 1-1 tie at the 2022 World Cup.

Tie (+210)
