Chicago Cubs @ Seattle Mariners

After the Cubs' 4-1 win, they will force the rubber match on Sunday. They had a difficult schedule, but the lineup is finding ways to get on base; Chigaco is second in walk rate and 11th in runners left in scoring position. It's been an excellent start for Javier Assad this year, and he will give the Mariners a problem as he keeps that sinker down. The slider has had tremendous movement this year.

Nothing has been going right to start the season for Seattle. With the exception of Ty France and Mitch Haniger, the entire lineup is struggling, with five players hitting under .200 with at least 30 at-bats. The rotation has not been much better, including Luis Castillo, who has gone five innings and allowed four earned in all three of his starts.

This will not be an easy matchup for Seattle, which has the pitching and hitting advantage in this game.

Detroit Pistons @ San Antonio Spurs

Last May, the Spurs edged the Pistons out in the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes. As we look on the final day of the season, neither of these teams will be making the playoffs, but one has a little bit more to be excited about heading into next year. San Antonio has a star in the making with Wembanyama. He is already one of the best defensive players in the league, if not the best, and he is capable of getting his points on offense as well. Detroit, meanwhile, is toiling at the bottom of the standings yet again and cannot afford another disappointment on Lottery night.

San Antonio has continued to show heart in the wake of some tough losses this year. Case in point: Friday's comeback victory over the Nuggets. Sure, every win takes them further from the Lottery's best odds, but they have a solid core that they're excited about. It is much more important for them to end this season on a high note and take that into next year.

Meanwhile, Detroit needs a loss here to clinch the worst record in the league for a second straight season. Due to injury or bad roster fit, their young core hasn't gelled the way they hoped, and they need to acquire more high-end talent. The motivation here is all in San Antonio's favor. Even without Wembanyama, I expect them to win this game handily.

Pick: Spurs -5.5 (-110)

Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400

It's been a season of mixed results for the No. 23 team. They've had serious speed and three T5s in five races to show for it. However, if it weren't for some pit-road mishaps and late-race wrecks, Wallace could have a half dozen T5s. Alas, things course-corrected last week, and they finished fourth at Martinsville. Momentum is back in the 23XI Racing team's favor as it heads to arguably one of its best shots to win this season.

Texas was Wallace's race to lose last year. The 30-year-old put it on the pole and was No. 1 in average position (4.2), percent of laps led (41.6%) and driver rating (128.8). William Byron, as always, played spoiler, but Wallace drove the best overall race. He thrives on intermediates overall now, scoring five T5s in 10 races and ranking ninth in ifantasyrace.com's total speed rankings at them last season.

It's a longer T5 than I usually invest in, but I don't think it should be. With value across the board for Wallace, I'm laddering this prop with the T10 and outright.

Bet: Bubba Wallace Top-5 Finish (+245)
