Today's Best Bets
Here are today's best bets.
MLB Best Bets
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago White Sox
The St. Louis Cardinals will give Steven Matz another shot at starting. Matz has performed better in the bullpen recently and will now begin today's game. He's facing a White Sox lineup that will likely have eight righties in it.
Matz has allowed a .174 ISO and wOBA of .390 to 236 righties on the season. He's only allowed those righties to hit a .065 ISO and wOBA of .304 over the last month. But that's from coming out of the bullpen.
The White Sox have five batters hitting a wOBA of at least .331 against lefties and five batters hitting at least a .182 ISO. They've only got three batters striking out more than 22.2% in their projected lineup against lefties over the last month too.
I like Chicago's potential to put some runs on the board against Matz today.
On the other hand, Lucas Giolito will get the call for the White Sox. Although he's a righty, he's struggled to get righties out over the last month. Giolito has allowed righties a .190 ISO and wOBA of .330 over the previous month. He's watched lefties hit a .214 ISO and woBA of .312 on the season.
There are ways to attack Giolito.
The Cardinals' projected lineup has smacked a .191 ISO and wOBA of .360 against righties over the last month. Like the White Sox, they've only got three batters striking out more than 21.6% of the time against righties in the previous month.
I'll back the Over in this game.

WNBA Best Bets
Dallas Wings vs. Indiana Fever
The Dallas Wings are coming off an 80-78 win over the Las Vegas Aces at home. They've won three of their last five and now sit 9-9 on the season. They will face an Indiana Fever team on a six-game losing streak.
The Fever hasn't played the Wings yet. But they've still averaged a higher field goal percentage than the Wings this season. That's what makes this game tricky.
The Wings should have more success on the glass. They're also the better defensive team. They just held Las Vegas to 78 points in their win.
Arike Ogunbowale has added 21.4 points per game. She's also knocked down 87% of her free throws but has shot 38.7% from the field. Ogunbowale plays over 37 minutes a night and leads the team with 4.4 assists.
Meanwhile, Kelsey Mitchell of the Fever has led her team with 17 points per game. She's shooting over 40% from the field this season. Mitchell and two other players are averaging double-figures. But after that, the roster has a major drop-off in production.
I'm taking Dallas -2.
Bet: Wings -2 (-110)

NBA Summer League Best Bets
Pistons vs. Rockets
The Pistons have the most stacked roster. Detroit used a starting lineup of Marcus Sasser, Jalen Ivey, Ausar Thompson, Jalen Duren, and James Wiseman. If this lineup played in the NBA, nobody would question the Pistons. They wouldn't make it far, but this is an NBA-level team. They're facing a Rockets team that won't start Amen Thompson. He's hurt and won't play against his twin brother in this one. But Houston still escaped Portland in their first game of the Tournament, even without Thompson. Jabari Smith Jr. hit a game-winning, buzzer-beating three, giving him 33 points on the night. Tari Eason also scored 20 and has NBA experience. Also, Thompson and Cam Whitmore combined for 30 points themselves. There's so much talent in this game. Take the Over.
Pick: Over 186.5 (-110)
The Big 3 Best Bets
Triplets vs. Tri-State
The Triplets earned their first win of the Big3 last weekend. This team is led by Jeremy Pargo and Joe Johnson, who have combined to score 73 points in two games. Those two are likely the best duo in the league. Meanwhile, Johnson and Larry Sanders have each added at least 20 rebounds in two games. They'll face Tri-State, who have ultimately been the best player in the Big3. Jason Richardson has added 48 points and 19 rebounds in two games for Tri-State. I'm ready for the Joe Johnson-Jason Richardson matchup. I'm on the Over.
Pick: Over 94.5 (-115)
