TGL Golf Picks & Predictions: Best Bets for Monday (3/24)

The TGL Finals are set for an entertaining showdown between Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club on Monday night. Monday’s match will be the first in a best-of-3 Finals format, with Match 2 on Tuesday and Match 3 on Wednesday if necessary.
Both of these teams won their Semifinal matches as underdogs, with Atlanta routing The Bay Golf Club 9-3 and New York beating Los Angeles 6-4. Atlanta’s roster for Match 1 starts with Justin Thomas, fresh off of a runner-up finish at the Valspar Championship, followed by Billy Horschel and Patrick Cantlay. New York’s roster features Cameron Young, Rickie Fowler, and Xander Schauffele in that exact order.
Last Monday, my TGL Semifinal best bets went 2-1. We cashed on New York’s moneyline at -105 odds and hit on Xander Schauffele to win his Two Hole Singles Matchup prop over Collin Morikawa at +150 odds. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for weekly PGA Tour analysis and free bets.

Winning Team
Both Atlanta and New York are peaking at the right time of the TGL season. Both of these teams have recorded back-to-back wins entering Match 1 of the TGL Finals on Monday night.
New York’s turnaround from their early season slump is impressive and they’ve made some adjustments for the Final, bumping Cameron Young up to first in the lineup and moving Xander Schauffele into 3rd. Young’s power off-the-tee is likely what warranted this move, while Schauffele’s short game is undoubtedly the best on New York’s roster.
Atlanta’s roster is loaded with talent and they’ve been red-hot all season. Their only loss came in regulation, losing 6-5 to The Bay Golf Club with Wyndham Clark outplaying Patrick Cantlay in Singles to hand the Drive their lone defeat. Since that loss, Atlanta has won 6-3, 9-1, and 9-3 during a revenge match in the TGL Semifinal against The Bay Golf Club.
New York’s been a fun underdog to cheer for but they are running into a buzzsaw in Match 1. Their only head-to-head match against Atlanta came earlier in the season, when the Drive shut them out 4-0. This was with their same exact lineup that’s going to be used tonight, while Matt Fitzpatrick was the substitute for Schauffele. Obviously, Schauffele being in the lineup helps New York’s chances, however, I think Atlanta’s too talented to beat in Match 1.
Let’s lay the juice and bet a unit on the Atlanta Drive GC to win Match 1 at -125 odds.
Pick: Atlanta Drive GC (-125)
To Lead After 3 Holes
No surprise here, I’m backing Atlanta to take an early lead against New York in Match 1. The Drive won the 1st hole in their previous matchup and held a 1-0 lead through 3 holes with this same lineup. Atlanta tends to grab an early lead in their matches, leading through three holes in each of their last two outings.
New York’s decision to adjust the order of its lineup may prove successful, or it could result in an early deficit, as each Young and Schauffele adjust to their new order during Triples. Despite both golfers’ specialty being accentuated, with Young’s driver and Schauffele’s putter, it could take a couple of holes to acclimate. By this point, Atlanta will have won at least one hole, with a par 4-par 5-par 3 start to Match 1.
Let’s back the favorite to grab a lead after 3 holes and bet another unit on this prop, backing the Atlanta Drive GC at +135 odds.
Pick: Atlanta Drive GC (+135)
