NFL Week 17 Thursday Night Football Best Bets (Cowboys vs. Titans)

DAL -12 (-110 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Titans’ season will come down to Week 18 against Jacksonville regardless of the outcome this week. Tannehill is already ruled out due to injury and Derrick Henry is listed as doubtful. Even if Henry plays, the Titans are averaging 16.3 PPG in games started by Malik Willis. Since Dak’s return in Week 7, the Cowboys are average 36.0 PPG (1st in the NFL). The high-powered offense and the fact the Cowboys are still alive for the NFC East title should be enough to cover the large spread.

Hassan Haskins Anytime TD (+180 FanDuel)

The Titans are likely to be down quite a few starters on offense Thursday night. Notably, starting QB Ryan Tannehill will miss the game and RB Derrick Henry is trending that way as well. Henry’s absence, combined with Dontrell Hilliard’s status on Injured Reserve, would open up an opportunity for backup RB Hassan Haskins to be the lead back on Thursday.

Haskins has played very sparingly this season, totaling just 50 yards on 11 carries so far. He was impressive in college, however, and has the skill set to make plays given a larger opportunity on Thursday. With rookie QB Malik Willis having struggled in limited action this season, I expect the Titans to lean on Haskins wherever they can, especially around the goal line.

The Cowboys’ defense has been very effective this year against opposing RBs, but given the opportunity he’s in for, I like Haskins’ Anytime TD prop at its current price. At a minimum, he’ll get opportunities to carry the ball in the red zone.

CeeDee Lamb OVER 59.5 Receiving Yards

CeeDee Lamb has really hit his stride since the Cowboys’ Week 9 bye. Over the past seven games, Lamb is third in the NFL in receptions, second in receiving yards, and has scored five touchdowns. Lamb’s elite production has come vs. solid opponents as they faced the Eagles, Vikings, Giants, Jaguars, and Packers. This includes back-to-back big-time games vs. Jaguars (7-126) and Eagles (10-120-2) over the last two weeks. What is unique about Lamb is even though he is the team’s number-one WR, he plays a lot of snaps in the slot. This has allowed Lamb to lead the NFL in slot yards since Week 10. That usage helps him avoid top cornerbacks and get more high-value targets in the middle of the field.

In Week 17, Lamb will have another juicy matchup vs. a reeling Titans DST. The Titans will be down most of their key starters on defense. These injuries have led to the Titans allowing the third most receptions, receiving yards, and the fourth most touchdowns to wide receivers over the past five weeks. This includes allowing opposing teams’ number one wide receiver like Tee Higgins (7-114-1), A.J. Brown (8-119-2), and Keenan Allen (8-86) all to have big games over that stretch. This matchup and Lamb having the hot hand should allow him to eclipse his player prop in Week 17.

Sports Betting Advice and Tools

What is a Moneyline Bet?
The Moneyline is a wager option where sports bettors are betting on who will win the game, with the favored team seeing reduced odds and the underdog receiving increased odds. When it comes to football, the spread is generally the primary betting option for most sports bettors. It’s a little more straightforward in that your win amount is generally the same regardless of which side you pick. However, with the moneyline, you can see a favorite at -130 while the underdog is at +110. This discrepancy is where you can find hidden value as a sports bettor.
