Pittsburgh Pirates @ Washington Nationals

The Nationals won yesterday and can take the series in the rubber match. However, it won't be easy with Josiah Gray on the mound. Gray has struggled to find success, and his expected ERA was in the 19th percentile last year. He was shelved in his first start against the Reds and allowed seven earned runs in four innings.

The Pirates dropped their first game of the year last night, but this team is clicking on offense. They are second in the league in OBP and sixth in OPS after starting 5-1. Martin Perez is coming off an awful season with the Rangers, where he had a 4.45 ERA and a 0.8 WAR. His debut for the Pirates went well, as he allowed just one earned run in 4.1 innings.

That start was against an awful Marlins lineup, but the Nationals' offense has been good to start the season. It is above average in most offensive categories, including ninth in slugging. Nine is a high total, but with both offenses starting hot and a bad pitching matchup, the over with plus-odds looks great.

Pick: Over 9 (+100)

NBA Best Bets

Denver Nuggets @ Los Angeles Clippers

This game could have been even better if Kawhi Leonard wasn't ruled out, but it should still be a solid showdown on TNT. One notable trend when these teams meet up is Nikola Jokic's rebounds. He has gone over this line in nine of his last 10 games against them, averaging 14.4 rebounds per game over this span. The Clippers have allowed the seventh-most rebounds to opposing centers over the last 30 days.

No Leonard means more minutes distributed throughout the team. Ivica Zubac will be one of the benefactors and has done very well without him this season. He's averaging 27 minutes, 13.7 points, and 10.6 rebounds in seven games without Leonard. He has 12+ points and 10+ rebounds in five of those seven games. The Nuggets have also allowed the seventh-most points per game to opposing centers on the season and the eighth-most over the last 30 days. Zubac has put up point/rebound lines of 10/9, 23/14 and 9/13 in three games against Denver this season.

Los Angeles Kings @ San Jose Sharks

It's been a roller coaster ride of a season for the Kings. Once considered an early championship favorite, they're now clinging to the final Wild Card spot. The offense has been inconsistent; they look dominant at times, but with injuries and bad play, they hit total incompetence. How well the defense plays from the blue line to the goaltending has kept them alive.

They beat a plummeting Kraken team last night, and now they face the worst team in the league. The Sharks will finish with the fewest points and the best chance to get the top pick. They are last in goals allowed, and it's not close. They are also second to last in goals scored, and they are close enough that last is where they could end up.

The Kings must beat these bad teams, especially with only a few games remaining, or they may miss the playoffs.
