MLB Best Bets

Los Angeles Angels (-118) at Detroit Tigers (+100) | O/U 8.5 (-122/+100)

With the Angels showing themselves as buyers with the acquisition of Lucas Giolito, they've said Shohei Ohtani is off the market. While his offensive numbers have him as a heavy favorite in the American League MVP race, the pitching has taken a dip. He's been roughed up over his last three starts going 1-2 with a 7.71 ERA, 7.32 FIP, and six home runs allowed.

The revenge game is in play for Michael Lorenzen, who was in the Angels' rotation last season. His second year as a full-time starter has been the best of his career, earning him his first all-star appearance. Two big changes have helped this season - better control and the 6.5 walk rate is his best since 2016, and his slider, his second go-to pitch, is getting a 27.4% whiff rate.

After a rough June, Lorenzen has been great in July by allowing no runs through 18.2 innings. Ohtani has been roughed up by plummeting Pirates lineup and underwhelming Padres offense.

Pick: Tigers Moneyline (+100)

TBT Best Bets

The Ville vs. Jackson TN Underdawgs

The Ville looks like the team to beat in The Basketball Tournament. After a 91-67 victory over War Ready, The Ville looks super legit. Russ Smith added 21 points, and Peyton Siva added seven assists. When Smith, Nick Mayo, Chinanu Onuaku, Chris Dowe, and Kyle Kuric are on the floor, Louisville will be hard to stop. They'll meet Jackson TN Underdawgs in tonight's game. They had an intriguing victory over Eberlein Drive, earning a 20-point win. Tevin Glass and Desonta Bradford will likely be the two leaders of this team moving forward. However, I still think Louisville has more depth and talent.

Pick: The Ville -4 (-115)

WNBA Best Bets

Indiana Fever vs. Los Angeles Sparks

The Fever and Sparks haven't reached 10 wins this season. A win from either of these teams also won't give either one of these teams 10 wins on the year.

The Fever have won six games, while the Sparks have earned eight wins.

This isn't a top-tier matchup in the WNBA.

The Sparks defeated the Fever two days ago, 79-78, on their home floor. Now we'll get Round 2 with the Sparks still on their home floor. Jordin Canada nailed a three-pointer for the Sparks with 3.2 seconds left in that first contest to end an eight-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, the Fever have won one game in their last 10. The Sparks shot better from downtown in the first matchup, but the Fever earned 10 more rebounds. Los Angeles will rely on their starters to move frequently while the Fever ultimately gets more production from the bench. With Nneka Ogwumike leading the way, the Sparks should be able to run away with this game.

She earned over 20 points per game and had 30 points with eight rebounds in the earlier win. Ogwumike will undoubtedly be the best player on the court in this one.

Bet: Sparks -3  (-110)
