Golden State Warriors @ Utah Jazz

The Warriors (26-25) and Jazz (26-29) play in a make-up game from Jan. 17, when GSW assistant coach Dejan Milojevic passed away from a heart attack in Salt Lake City.

On Wednesday, Golden State suffered a 130-125 loss against the LA Clippers, losing outright as a 3.5-point favorite with the Over (238.5) cashing. Golden State is still 5-1 ATS in the past six games, while the Under is on a 5-1 run, too. That includes a 129-107 win as a one-point favorite in Wednesday’s game in SLC, where the Under (240.5) cashed.

Utah is skidding lately, dropping three straight and six of the previous eight, while also going 2-6 ATS in that eight-game span. The Jazz defense has struggled lately, allowing 129 or more points in three straight games while coughing up 127 or more points in eight of the previous 13 contests. The best play on the board is to go high on the total, which is actually pretty reasonable, with a line set well below 240.

Bet: Over 237.5 (-110)

Detroit Red Wings @ Vancouver Canucks

The Red Wings offense has been helping this team throughout the year, and it will be important to them down the stretch. You’ve seen them fade when some of their top forwards have missed time. However, everyone is healthy; even Patrick Kane is back contributing, and you’re seeing them play much better.

The Canucks continue as the top team in the league, being both top five in goals scored and allowed. They didn’t believe it was good enough, so they got even better by acquiring Elias Lindholm from Calgary. So far, he has had two goals and an assist since joining the team.

The Canucks have a significant defensive edge, but the Red Wings have proven to be able to contend against potent defenses, so side with the over, with each side’s top forward coming away with points.

Colorado @ UCLA

UCLA was left for dead after starting the season 6-10 and losing four of its first five Pac-12 games. Since then, the Bruins have played much better basketball, winning seven of eight, with the only loss in that span coming by six points in a road game against Arizona in which they had a 19-point first-half lead. Because they started so slow, the Bruins still do not have a compelling enough resumé to be taken seriously as an NCAA tournament bubble team. Still, they have certainly turned heads with a top 21 ranking since Jan. 12 in Torvik’s adjusted efficiency metrics and the ninth-most WAB (Wins Above Bubble).

The Bruins’ success is in large part a result of a commitment to the defensive end of the floor, as they have held their last eight opponents to an average of 64.3 points per game. UCLA grinds games to a halt with a bottom-25 tempo among all D-I teams and ranks in the top two in the Pac-12 in adjusted defensive efficiency and 3-point percentage allowed (34.0%).

The two regular-season meetings between these teams last year saw 122 and 116 points scored. Colorado has not scored 70 points in its last two road games, though in one of those games against Utah, it played without Cody Williams (14.0 points per game). The Under is 7-3 when UCLA has had at least four days off, and we expect this to be the first of four games where the Under cashes when Colorado has been a road favorite.

Pick: Under 137.5 (-112)
