New York Knicks @ Denver Nuggets

The Knicks (41-27) tangle with the Nuggets (48-21) in the Mile High City, and New York looks to use its suffocating defense to keep the defending champs down.

New York enters on a 3-0-1 ATS run, including 2-0-1 ATS in the first three games of the four-game road trip, which wraps up on Thursday. Stout defense has been a major part of the recent resurgence of the Knicks lately, allowing 93 or fewer points in five of the past six games. However, two of those games were against the banged-up Philadelphia 76ers, missing their MVP, Joel Embiid. Denver has its two-time MVP, Nikola Jokic, so be careful. Still, the Knicks held the Kings to just 91 points in Sacramento, though, which was quite impressive.

The Nuggets have failed to cover the past two games, and they're just 4-6 ATS in the past 10 games at Ball Arena. New York might not come away with a straight-up victory in Denver on Thursday night, but it should be able to keep it within single digits with its suffocating defense. In addition, the Under is 3-1 in the past four games for Denver while going 11-2 in the past 13 games for New York. Again, SGP bettors might find some value in playing the Knickerbockers while also going low.

New York Rangers @ Boston Bruins

We're heading right to one of the best games on Thursday's slate between two Eastern Conference powerhouse teams. The New York Rangers travel to TD Garden to face the Boston Bruins as underdogs, sitting at +120 odds on the moneyline. Boston has rattled off three consecutive wins, albeit against sub-par opponents like Montreal, Philadelphia and Ottawa.

The Bruins are 5-1 SU in their last six games, while the Rangers are coming off a 4-2 loss at home to Winnipeg. New York hasn't lost back-to-back games outright since opening the month with losses to Florida and Toronto. However, the Rangers have prevailed in both previous head-to-head matchups this season, including one in Boston. At plus odds, we're obligated to stake a unit on the Rangers' +120 moneyline odds against the Bruins on Thursday night.

College Basketball Best Bets

#10 Nevada Wolfpack vs. #7 Dayton Flyers

We will see strength vs. strength in a matchup between the seven-seed Dayton Flyers and the 10th-seed Nevada Wolfpack. Both teams shoot and defend the 3-ball exceptionally well, which is a blessing and curse come tournament time. 

While Nevada may have difficulty getting the long ball to go in, Kenan Blackshear will find other ways to score. Blackshear will be the best player on the court and won't have to rely on the 3 to get his points. Blackshear is second on the team in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game, while only taking 26 3PAs all season. Against other teams that defend the arc well (New Mexico, San Diego State, Utah State), he averaged 19 points per game in five games. 

Give me a more experienced team to control the pace and advance to the next round.
