NFL Best Bets

Over 49 Points (-108 via DraftKings Sportsbook)

This game has high-scoring written all over it. Although neither team played in a shootout in Week 1, the weakness for each of these teams is on the defensive side of the ball. The Eagles are likely to be without cornerback James Bradberry, and Nick Sirianni already stated that linebacker Nakobe Dean will be out for at least a couple of weeks.

Though the defensive line for the Eagles will have a field day against the Vikings’ offensive line, we still expect the Vikings to move the ball well, especially if they fall behind early. Don’t read too much into what the Eagles’ offense did in Week 1. Trust the third-highest-scoring team from a year ago to get right on Thursday.

College Football Bets

Navy vs. Memphis

Memphis is off to a 2-0 start to the season, riding the arm of QB Seth Henigan. He’s been great in their matchups with Bethune-Cookman and Arkansas State. Navy should be a slight step up defensively over those squads, but they were torn apart by a solid Notre Dame offense in Week 0 by Sam Hartman and company. Memphis may not quite have the offensive firepower that the Irish possess, but they only need to cover 2+ scores here, unlike the 39 the Irish won by. Memphis’s defense has been just as impressive, shutting down both opponents they faced. Navy won’t pose much of a threat, touting the 124th-ranked offense per SP+. On a short week in Memphis, I like the Tigers to cruise to a comfortable victory.

Pick: Memphis -14.5 (-105)

MLB Best Bets

San Francisco Giants (-258) at Colorado Rockies (+210) | O/U 10.5 (+100/-120)

The last few starts have not worked out well for Logan Webb. At times, he’s been able to pitch phenomenally but has lacked run support, and in others, he’s just been inefficient. The Giants are just 1-4 in his last five starts, but that one win was last week against Colorado. He’s 2-0 in three starts against the Rockies, which includes a complete game shutout.

On the other side, it’s been a rough year for Chase Anderson. It’s been filled with awful starts, including his last one against the Giants, where he only went 3.2 innings and allowed six earned.

The Giants need wins as they’re in a tight National League race. This is an excellent opportunity to get one.

Pick: Giants (-155)
