NFL Draft Best Bets

Michael Mayer: Under 21.5

  • Line: +150
  • Sportsbook: bet365
  • Date: Apr. 23
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: Mayer’s over/under is 23.5 at Caesars juiced -120 to the under, but if we move down two spots, we can gain 70 cents of value without (in my opinion) giving up much in return: Picks Nos. 22-23 belong to the Ravens and Vikings, both of whom are set at tight end, so Mayer’s real odds of going before 21.5 are roughly the same as the odds for going before 23.5, and I think those odds are about 50/50. In sharp mocks, Mayer’s mean is 21.4, and his median is 21. He often is mocked to the Cowboys at No. 26, but he could easily go off the board before then to the Packers, Lions and Chargers (Nos. 15, 18 & 21).

MLB Best Bets

Tampa Bay Rays (-144) at Chicago White Sox (+122) | O/U 7 (-122/+100)

We will look at a rematch from last week because it features two of the more exciting pitchers in the league.

The White Sox look like they’ll struggle this season. They are riding a seven-game losing streak, and both their offense and pitching are ranked near the bottom. Dylan Cease has been their one bright light in the rotation, as he carries over his stellar 2022 with a 2.73 ERA and 1.18 WHIP.

The Rays got off to one of the best starts in league history with the highest average and ERA. Shane McClanahan had a Cy Young-potential season early on in 2022, but an injury derailed it. He’s on track to be in those talks again this year.

This is certainly an even pitching matchup, but you have to favor the Rays giving just enough run supports to pull them to a win.

Pick: Rays ML (-144)

NBA Playoffs Best Bets

Jaylen Brown Over 26.5 Points (-106 FanDuel)

There is only one game tonight. That means betting will be limited, but there is betting value. The Celtics are leading the series 3-2, and tonight have a chance to move on to the second round. Atlanta can win this game to tie up the series and take it to game seven. That means both teams will be fighting to win tonight.

Tonight there are a few players with betting value. One of those players is Jaylen Brown. He averaged 26.6 points per game during the regular season. He is playing alongside  Jayson Tatum. That means he will have quality looks, with the Hawk’s defense focusing on Tatum. Brown can take advantage of this opportunity tonight.

NHL Playoffs Best Bets

Auston Matthews OVER 4.5 Shots On Goal (-105)

After the Game 1 loss to the Lightning, nobody believed the Maple Leafs would recover. Flash forward, and they are one win away from eliminating the three-time defending Eastern Conference champions for their first playoff series win in nearly 20 years.

The offense has made one of the top goalkeepers look amateur, as Andrei Vasilevskiy has a .856 save percentage and a playoff-worst -5.1 goals saved above expected.

The Leafs have steadily improved at attacking the net throughout the series, including Matthews, whose shot total has increased every game, along with 14 in two regular-season matchups.
