NFL Best Bets

New Orleans Saints @ Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are playing excellent football of late. They’ve won four of their past five games, and their only loss in that span was a 37-31 overtime defeat on the road against the Baltimore Ravens. Two of their past three wins have been by at least 17 points, and although the final score of this past week’s win over the Washington Commanders was just 28-20, they led 28-7 at one point.

Meanwhile, the Saints have picked up back-to-back blowout wins over the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants. However, both of those wins came at home, and you’d have to go back to Week 8 to find the Saints’ last road win. The Saints are 1-5 against teams that are .500 or better this season. All five of their losses were by at least five points. Back the Rams as they move one step closer to a postseason berth.

Bet: Rams -4 (-110)

San Antonio Spurs @ Chicago Bulls

The Spurs (4-22) and Bulls (12-17) square off at the United Center in Chicago, the second meeting between these teams since Dec. 8. Chicago posted a 121-112 win in San Antonio as a 2-point favorite while the Over (224.5) connected.

The Bulls have won two in a row and three of the past four games overall. Chicago has also been cover kings lately. The Bulls have covered four straight games and nine of the past 10 games overall, including each of the past two games as a favorite. Chicago is 4-2 ATS in the past six games as a favorite.

The Spurs suffered a 132-119 setback in Milwaukee against the Bucks while still cashing as a 16.5-point underdog. San Antonio has also been 3-1 ATS in the past four contests. Like the Pistons, the Spurs have endured a lengthy losing streak, dropping 18 in a row before topping the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 15.

Chicago crushed San Antonio two weeks ago in Texas, and it should get the job done again at the United Center on Thursday.

Bet: Bulls -4.5 (-106)

Saint Joseph’s @ College of Charleston

It could be said of many teams that they have yet to be challenged in true road environments, as they benefited from several home games or neutral site tournaments to begin the season. However, the same cannot be made of Saint Joseph’s, who took Kentucky to overtime at Rupp Arena and beat Villanova in their on-campus arena in a Big 5 rivalry game. In addition, the Hawks’ 74-70 home victory over Princeton will likely gain more clout as the season progresses since it is also the Tigers’ only loss to date.

All of this is to say that the Hawks have been much more battle-tested than a Charleston team that has played just one game against a KenPom top-60 team, losing that game to FAU by 16 points.

St. Joe’s has given teams fits with its unique five-out offense, and they are on pace to finish in the top 40 in effective field goal percentage for the first time since 2014. Meanwhile, Charleston ranks outside the top 200 in both two-point and three-point percentage allowed. They also do not have the individual defenders to keep pace with the Hawks, especially since they have allowed an average of 80 points per game in its four losses.

St. Joe’s is one of the most profitable ATS teams this season (9-2), which has us backing the Hawks, despite ShotQuality predicting a 78.6-72.2 Cougars victory.

Bet: Saint Joseph’s +2 (-110)
